How to adjust camber on my st202 - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #87675 17 posts Started by underground_desi...
Hello everyone!
I'm new here and this is my first topic, so if something is not proper please be gentle. wink.gif
On topic.
My car is st202 and I want to adjust my camber settings.
I want 2 to 3 degrees of camber for the front and 3 to 4 degrees for the rear wheels.
I have just bought these from ebay
ebay camber bolts
but my mechanic told me they don't fit kindasad.gif

Anyway.
I know that these bolts won't give me more than one degree of camber so I am going to need something else...
what is that? I don't know.
So please give me your lights!
You'll need coilovers to do that
You will need coilovers and pillowball mounts pretty much adjustable top mounts for struts but for coilovers bc coilovers have the pillowball mounts that r adjustable for a little over a grand its kinda steep but it will give you the adjustments you want but I believe its only 5 degrees
just get camber plates for the front. but the rear on the other hand is going to be difficult. i don't recall any rear adjustable camber plates being sold unless they were already on coilovers. other than camber bolts or possibly redrilling new holes in your strut tower, the only other way i know of is to increase your ride height (*puts flame suit on*).

Link doesnt work.

You don't need coilovers to adjust the camber... I can adjust my camber on springs/struts, not by much tho..
Correct camber bolts will work for about 1-2 degrees.

HERE

edit** nvm I didn't read more than 1 degree... continue with the discussion biggrin.gif

coilovers are pricy if someone wants just to adjust camber.
I searced for some camber plates but there are only adjustable for the front.
Maybe I am going to to make something custom (just like azian_advanced said) but I have never saw something similar.
Does anybody seen or done such a thing? Some phtos or a link maybe?
cusco make camber plates which you can buy separately. But they appear to be discountinued and im not sure if they would fit with the factory suspension.

Does anyone here on 6gc have seen any custom camber plates for our cars?
Especially for the rear?

never seen one for the rear. u get some more -camber by slamming it more with coilovers.

BC for ST205 has an optional rear camber top hat you can buy separately

has anyone ever looked into adjustable camber arms?

I wouldn't recommend kicking your camber out that much on your car unless your just entering it in hellaflush car shows. For optimal performance you shouldn't surpass 1.5-2 degrees in the front and .5-1 degrees in the back.
MiSillyCar talked about replacing this solid rear arm with another factory adjustable arm, but haven't heard anything more after he got the extra adjustable arms.

you DO NOT need coilovers to adjust camber camber bolts will work for 1-2 degrees which should be enough to tickle your fancy. you just need to make sure you get the right set of bolts!
you could always take a drill and elongate the strut mounting holes. They'll probably slip under hard cornering though, but if you made some metal spacer that filled the gap afterwards and welded it in it'd work. Kinda ghetto but it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than custom adjustable control arms.

This sounds like the best option here. Now that I've installed my coils, I need to look into a custom control arm setup b/c even with the camber bolts, the rear cannot go more than -3.3*(DVR) and -2.8(PASS)

The fronts are set up at -1.5* and 0 toe on both sides.

i belive both the front wheels are supposed to have -.5 toe. or at least thats what the alignment machine told me when i had my car on the alignment rack at work..
Yea.... Those are factory settings.

I have my car set-up for autox/tail of the dragon.

Plus, it's not my daily, so I'm not too concerned about tire wear.
