Struts? - 6G Celicas Forums

Iv been hearing this weird noise, and also feeling a strange bump, lately on my front right side of my car.
Then today when I was getting a flat patched, (waiting on new tires) I was informed that my strut had blown.
Now I have seen losts of people who have aftermarket struts on.
Always been interested but don't know much about them.


So my question is thus:
Should I get aftermarket struts, or stock ones?
what will getting aftermarket ones do for me?
Also I am planning on gettting some Coilovers soon, so if having aftermarket struts and those would be beneficial, is another question.

Have any advice, or answers, please let me know!

Aftermarket will save money over the OE Toyota struts and usually have a better warranty. How soon are you planning on getting coilovers? New struts all around will be throwing money away if you plan on getting coils soon. However, I would replace the one blown strut at any rate, especially sitting on new tires. A blown strut will cause uneven wear on the new tire.

As well as an overall ****ty ride.

You should double check that strut OP, perhaps it's something else. If it's not, then I'd get the coilovers instead of purchasing a single strut for ~ $100.
