Fenders or not? - 6G Celicas Forums

hey guys,

I have a C-1 body kit shipping here, now do you think i should get some aftermarket fenders, like M1's, or bullets, whatever. or do you think it will look to ricey?

Maybe post up some pictures of what you're thinking, but IMO, no ones really been able to pull off the vented fenders too well.

Really? Do you know of any posts that have the details about it?

Only certain cars can get away with vented fenders, and 9 times out of 10 that car came from the factory that way. The aftermarket ones are always so over dramatic, if they'd make them more subtle it'd look a lot better.

I just picked up a set of Duraflex Z3 fenders, (found them on locally on craigslist new in the box) they are vented, I don't have them installed yet so my opinion may change but I like the looks of them, the vents are kinda suttle, the are not in anyway "over done". I would like to see another Celi with these fenders installed before I commit, but haven't seen one yet. Like I said, I like them, just my 2 cents worth!

Really? Do you know of any posts that have the details about it?

Not off hand no, but I do recal seeing some memebers cars with them and wasn't a fan.
Box is right, they are too outrageous, and blatantly aftermarket to look good.
Only car I've reall seen thats been able to pull them off are s2000's

I say do what u waana do and build it the way u want. After all ur the only one that will be driving it and putting in the wrench time. We could give all the thoughts and opinion in the world but it really comes down to u and what u want and like.

Ya, i definetly get what your saying there. I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how it would look on a 6th gen, because I'm going to be molding the body kit to the car, and well if i dont get fenders, then i dont want to do any surgery to remove the kit, to put new ones on.

But my main concern is that it wont look to ricey. Thats why I went with the C-1, because its got a nice subtle flow, that doesnt jump out and say "Fast and Furious". And the last thing i want to do is put these fenders completely ruin the image. ya know what i mean?

You need a LOT of fiberglass and plastic on your car to make the vented fenders blend in IMO. A beefy body kit all the way around, not that it cant be done though

Hey terbeau, Thanks, and i have to agree with you, the Z3 style just dont appeal to me, i was thinking the M1 styles, but im not going to dick around with them. Just that. But quick question on the body kit on the black one, is that the C-1 Front and skirts?

Good Deal! It looks pretty sweet. I've got the same color, or rather is black. But Im going to be doing a Two-tone black and charcoal front to rear. But Looks good. and cant wait to get mine together!
