3s-ge tensioner - 6G Celicas Forums

Without trying to sound to frustrated. How the hell do you release the tension on the timing belt on a 3s-ge? (3rd gen non BEAMS). Pictures would be help full. I just can't seem to figure it out.

I just took off the idle pully which is underneath the tensioner. The belt will be loose then.

just remove the two tensioneer bolts, or just cut the belt tongue.gif

well that helps with taking it off, but what about when I go to put the new one on?
From what I understand the belt isn't tight til after it rotates.
