Hey Guys.
Ok, my clutch is startin to slip when i launch which means she is on its way out, but i am saving up for a Beams 3s-ge. I have a 3s-fe atm. Could a heavy duty clutch fit both engine?

I believe you'd be fine buying one and using it on both... so long as you are still using the S54 flywheel and transmission for both motors.

if thats the case, since you have the chance, get the 3sgte light flywheel, and 3sgte clutch disc made for s54. the diameter is a somewhat larger. that way you are not running a smaller diameter on an engine not intended.

On a Beams that wouldn't be an issue. There isn't enough torque in the Beams motor to make the clutch slip due to the disk being smaller than the flywheel... Hell, most V6 guys throw their S54 Exedy stock replacement clutch in on the 1MZ flywheel (same diameter as the 3SGTE) and still have no problems.

so u guys are saying i should just get 3sgte flywheel and clutch which i could then swap the Beams flywheel for the 3sgte ?

I'm saying get a new clutch for your current setup. Like a south bend clutch stage 2 kevlar kit. Then reuse it with the beams swap. No new flywheel. Stick with what you've got.

beams flywheel will only work with beams clutch cover.

3sgte clutch kit with s54 spline will not work on 3sge beams flywheel.

3sgte and s54 flywheel are same diameter, but contact surface betweeen the two are diff. 3sgte is 236mm disc and 5sfe/3sfe is 225mm disk. Same applies for 3sge beams 225mm disc.

IDK, thats what I think, if you are going to spend the money, might as well spend it to its to potential. Manny did it as well at one point when he ran his 5sfte.

i see what yall are saying is because the beams flywheel is already the same size as the 5s, might as well continue it to save money...because you stick to the same clutch and when you change over to the beams flywheel its still the same size. im just thinking go bigger if you got the money. its really a choice between just buying a compatible clutch that you can reuse, or a new bigger diameter flywheel Plus clutch.

how much did that cost ya?
