Hey guys I'm only new to these forums so any help would be appreciated. Before I joined the forums I bought some Rota Grids for the celica they are 17" x 9" with +30 offset.
I am wanting to upgrade to possibly coil overs within the next couple of months and just wanted some help from you guys. I was looking at D2's but after reading up here
most seem to go with megans. Anyway I don't no to much yet so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Another thing: I haven't bought tires for them yet either so some help there would be nice aswell.

Help with Coilovers not struts, you may get more of a response.
If you do a quick search theres quite a bit of info on coilovers

bc coils are nice as well as d2's. megans are more entry level, but seem to be fine i suppose. i currently have tanabe df210 springs with kyb gr2 struts. looking to di bc coils in the future most likely.

when you buy coils look for warranty info as well as just over all features, most import being adjustability.

im eventualy going with BC coilovers when i get the money.

my best picks are megan streets and bc for budget coilovers. teins suck period, i dont care what anyone says. i've had em, my friends had em, they all suck, adjustability reassembly, feel, suck, unless you get the high end version but you'd spending too much by then. I might be bias but they are definitely not bang for your buck and you'd be buying the name mostly because its from Japan but wtvr.

Ok I'll do some more research today I think megans are looking the better option for affordability but if there is some better for a bit more I don't think I will mind.

I've looked through the forums and it seems like Megans are the way to go, I read up on your threads trdproven + others and have a better understanding now.

I have driven BC, D2 and Megan coilovers. And I pretty much like them in that order.

Although I have heard of difficulty getting BC replacement struts. I like my D2's and it was extremely easy to obtain 4 replacement struts, dampening adjusters and a spare set of spanner wrenches.

I honestly prefer my D2s over the Megans that I have driven. Although the Megans were on a 240, they seemed a bit less comfortable then my D2s.

I am for sure satisfied with my D2s for the price that they were.

Oh really? I was originally going to get them but more for the fact that they were purple haha, I think the main thing now is affordabillity and reliability. The difference between
Megans and D2's is about $300 - $400.

I mean like I said, I feel like the D2's are a tad more comfortable. I really enjoy my set, LOTS of adjustability. And yeah, the purple is pretty cool too, haha.

As far as reliability, I only have about 3000 miles on mine so I can't really say much. But my car is pretty low and pretty stiff and they are good to go at the moment. Replacement struts are only like $125 each and are extremely easy to replace and they have them available, ready to ship.

The extra $300-400 is up to you though, I bought my coils for $150 in used good condition with blown struts and bought 4 brand new strtuts, so I got mine for deals.

Oh wow thats great for me to get them is going to cost bit over 1,000 for the megans and about $1400 for the d2s still not sure which way I want to go, leaning more towards the megans though. It will save me some money + I got to get some new tires for the new rims i got.

Not sure if this is still going on, but wasnt't there a group buy in the past for megans?
IIRC you are still able to get the GB price on the Megans if you tell them you are from 6gc.

JMAUTORACING has always sweet deals on coilovers, got my BCs there for 800 bucks cus i had to replace my crappy teins. but i use megans on my 6th gen.
