my brother has a 06+ civic its pretty fun to drive but I dont like the front wind shield its hard to see. I'm looking for a rsx s too Love the interior
im actually getting a new car as well. but its not going to be turbo unfortunitly, buts its a 2013 impreza 2.0i
I would say WRX, but they're a PITA to work on.

A-pillar angle on the Civic is killer, plus the dash looks dumb in them.

I suppose that means I default to a RSX.

1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of moneyI'm not really an asshole, but I play one on the internet.**** Photobucket
Ive been leaning more towards the wrx or the rsx
The wrx cuz of the fact its awd an 4 door
The rsx cuz still fairly Sporty an its a honda

Dislikes
Wrx - dd an turbo just doesnt seen smart after higher mileage
Rsx -kinda looks like a 7gc an its a honda

I like the look of the civic but the windshield looks like it would get on my nerves an at the end of the day.... you probably really wanted a rsx but the civic was more in your price range

dont get something that youll end up giving more attention to than your celica

Thats why i want to get a newer car

in that sense too, yeah. something new and reliable that you dont have to worry about.
But I meant it in the way of getting a new car and seeing that there is a crazy awesome aftermarket for it and there are parts a plenty.

When I got my fit, I had an itchy add to cart finger with buying parts for it.
Luckily, I quelled that urge

Id go for the wrx since its awd and turbo. The other two choices are too similar to the Celica and you wouldn't really be gaining all that much by buying them. At least the wrx would be a totally different type of car than what you have now.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
Im not looking for faster lol
Maybe faster than the coupe haha
Thats why im looking into the 3 that i am
All 3 are fairly peppy cars with desent mpg
I know hondas are reliable an alot of people seem to love the wrx an its as close to a gt4 as ill probably ever get lol (excluding alltracs)

WRX gets 18/24 on premium, that's the original window sticker too. RSX and Si aren't too bad on gas. If it were me I'd say the RSX over the Si, little bit nicer of a car. Not much in the way of RWD that doesn't get similar mpg to the WRX. Though a 2004 GTO with the manual originally got 17/29 on premium, and has a big enough rear for adults.

im basically stuck between the wrx (probably wagon)
An the rsx type s

Im trying to stay away from rwd because i will have to drive this car in the winter too

An not nocking the gto but me an pontiac hate eachother

Ah yes, other people have Winter. I forget that at times. tongue.gif If you're up for feeding the WRX go for it. Some AWD Audi cars out there that get decent mpg, but when anything breaks you'll pay for it. Also rechecked and the WRX does get 20/27, was looking at the STI earlier.

Get a Vette then, same mpg and 500 pounds lighter. thumbsup.gif

Only thing is the WRX only has 27 more hp than the RSX, but weighs 300 pounds more. You do have nice AWD though. Another option would be a Lancer Evo. I've had bad experiences with Mitsubishi, but the Lancers are rated fairly well.

Best thing would be to test drive them all if possible, then determine exactly what you're wanting in regards to mpg, drive-train, and size.

Yep we tend to get alot of snow at times an rwd sucks in winter
I thought those numbers seemed alittle low for the wrx an just like any other car you can get better than that if you drive it right
My plan is to test drive all 3 an probably have my friend that owns a used car lot find what i want.
But im still alittle ways off from that lol

Yep, figure it all out eventually. ORRR spend the money you would on a new car on the Nova instead. Just a thought. tongue.gif

I have an RSX and am looking at my AWD options. But I will say, for FWD sport compacts, these little cars are great.

-Much like the Celica, interior is still one of the nicest (even for a 10 year old car)
-You have the very popular K20 that all the Civic kids are swapping into their car
-Aftermarket and OEM replacement parts are pretty easy to find
-I am a believer in hatchbacks after owning this car lol (so much cargo room for a 2 door)
-Gas mileage is around 22-24 city (very little lead foot)
-I've driven in the snow and these cars handle their own pretty well.

The only thing I would be cautious of is a lot of times these cars are previously owned by kids that beat the crap out of them, so you need to look into the history (carfax, ect..). They are very reliable, but I have heard a few stories of people having quite a few problems people didn't find out about until after purchasing the car.(thats why I bout my car completely stock)

Depending on the Civic Si you are looking at, the Ep3 is very comparable to the RSX. But the FA5 (06-10) have drive-by-wire and a few other options that make them a little more of a joy for car enthusiasts.

I plan on getting a bone stock car
An im fully aware of how they get beat on lol
But i trust my friend to find me a good car as he always does

Thanks for the feed back on how the rsx is in the winter
thats been my biggest fear with all of them so far

If you already have your Celica as a project car, why don't you buy a reasonable daily driver? You said the WRX appeals to you because of the 4 door aspect, but you're also interested in the fuel economy of the Hondas. Why don't you just buy a Corolla and call it a day. GREAT on gas, cheap, extremely reliable, cheap on insurance, and, oh yea, they're a TOYOTA :-)

You don't want to buy another car that you're going to be tempted to spend money on, trust me, I've had my Celica project going for 6 years now...and in that time I've managed to build a 400+hp SOHC Civic, and have two Lexus SC's....and the Celica still sits.

I have to buy something that im going to enjoy
Witch means its gotta have a simi sporty feel to it an has to be fun to drive
I drive about an hour one way to work an ive sold other cars because they bord me to death lol
Ive already told me self that nohing gets done till the coupe an yhe 1mz are close an i plan on sticking to it
The wrx might be alittle hard for that since its turbo but i know i can leave the hondas alone
Been there done that an kinda over high horse hondas
I have thought about the newer corrollas but we really dont need another family car. Thats why we bought the boring little crv lol an when i bought the coupe these were 3 cars i thought of before but was out of my price range then

If you don't need another family car, then why does the 4 doors of the WRX appeal to you? Don't you know sedans are for old people? laugh.gif Sorry, my younger brother has a Nissan Maxima and I poke fun at him all the time for it. tongue.gif

As of now I'd say the RSX is the way to go. Or could go a few years older and get a 2001 Integra Type R. Which I'd opt for the Integra, only 5 less hp but weighs 178 pounds less. 24/31 for the RSX and 25/30 for the Type R, so pretty much the same on fuel economy. Then there's the 7th gen Celica, but I think you said something about how it was a con that the RSX looked similar to it. I guess you don't like how the 7GC looks then.
