found a mechanic that is found me a 7afe with 119000 miles. He said the motor and install would be 1250 dollars. Is this a good deal?

I'd say that's a good deal if he does a good job. It sounds like he's charging around $500 for labor. Make sure that price includes a warranty on parts AND labor. I once had a non-rebuilt engine put in a Chevy and they charged me $2500 and did a real ****ty job.

i think thats a little high, i found an engine in texas with about 110k for around 500 and if labor is 500 it would put it around $1000. do it yourself! might as well cant be that hard to do.
I think you could put it in yourself too, it would save you money and you could learn so much by getting in there and getting dirty.

The labor at a reputable mechanic shop would be double what this guy is asking. Expect to pay $1500-$2500 in labor and $1000-$3000 for an engine
thats alot of miles with no history on them. if you can pull your own engine and rebuild it like in my guide you will be golden
