amp wont stop buzzing - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #84444 14 posts Started by kurt95gt
Ok so ive got a question.
Can bad aux wire cause that super annoying whining sound.
I went through my system today an redone my ground an i know its big enough for my amp
The ground an power are good for 650 an my amps only 250.
so im figuring its gotta eather be the aux wires or the actual radio ground

As long as i have the amp set for bass only the whine isnt there but since i have 4 subs it would be nice to turn on the vocals too

Are your rca inputs run alongside your power wire all the way to the back? They need to be on opposite sides of the car or you will get a whine. And yes I would try temporarily running new wires from the deck to the amp as they will definitely cause a whine

You can purchase shielded wire if all else fails. Its got a foil sheathing that you ground to the vehicle chassis. Some of the EFI sensors have them
My amps under my drivers seat.
The power wire is ran from the battery down the drivers side to the amp under the seat
an the rcas are run from the center console to the amp

If one of the aux wires is loosely connected, it can make the same buzzing. It's something that's easy to check and easy to fix.

The amp I use to have in my car hummed when I first put it in because I ran a straight 12v power lead to it from the battery (with a switch). I didn't leave it like that cause it wasn't that way in my other car so I actually used the antenna turn on wire and it stopped humming
Ok well ill try a pick up a new set of rcas this weekend a if that doesnt work ill redo my remote wire an see what hapoens

Technically not true, unless he is feeding other higher spectrum speakers which will pick up such whine. Sub amps filter that out, unless he has the filter way way up.

Mine are run together with no whine, and are not shielded.

Most likely you have a bad ground, or your alt is causing the whine.

Check the ground on the head unit, or make a new one all together for it.

Also check to make sure connections to alt are secure.
Ok
Ill look at all of that this weekend too

RCA wires are next to ground wires or you have a bad ground.

You don't want to create a "ground loop". Ground all the sound stuff at one point on the body, that is usually the problem.

So i should ground the amp an radio in the same place
