Pro car part indiglo installation ? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #8427 11 posts Started by celicagt94
I have decided to go ahead and install my pro car part reverse glow gauges myself instead of paying 65 for my shop to do it,

im gonna go by the how-to but i need help with something that he didnt explain very well

my gauges have wires that attach from the top of the guage to the power supply and it has a dimmer switch

first of all where to i place the power supply, to i run the wires behind the gauge and down through the dash to the inner fuse box or do they run out of the bottom and to the side?

im kinda confused on this, where did u all place urs?

secondly where and how did u mount ur knob?
all i did with mine was run the power wire through the illumination wire on the back of my stereo. i'm not sure which wire that is but if you have an aftermarket stereo the wire should be labeled on the wiring harness. wiring it this way makes it so that the gauges come on when you turn on your lights. about the switch...i just left mine inside my dash. i just set the color to what i thought i would like most. all right, i hope this was helpful.

With mine, i ran the wires back behind the cluster below the dash, i didnt bother mounting the dimmer switch as i dont ever use my existing one and im never going to change the colors so i just hid it behind the center console.
I used the light on wire in the stock stereo deck wiring harness so that they'll come on when u turn the lights on, naturally.
I believe the knob has 2 small holes on the L-shaped piece, just use small screws and place it anywhere, below the dash im assuming.

WHat I did w/ mine is I took the power lead wire & ran it down to the tail light fuse in the inner box (for the same reasons as everone else). One thing I dont like about em tho is I have Cruise Control and the new gauges dont have a spot for the cluster light.
how do u take off the circular plastic peice that covers the needles?

i am at this step but i dont wanna break the needle off i just need the plastic circle peice off

thx for the quik reply
Just pry off the caps carefully. There are a couple of tabs holding them on.
