I know where there was a post about how the wiring was setup but this site search engine just sucks. If anyone can. Can they help me out. The problem I have is the reverse lights not working. I changed the bulbs and it still doesn't work. The fuse is not blown. The brake lights and turn signals works. It's just the reverse lights. Any ideas?

Have you known them to work at any time? If not it may be the backup switch.

Actually when I purchased the car. Only the back right reverse light worked. The back left was blown. I replaced both and it worked for that night then I noticed both didn't work no more. I finally looked at the fuse and it wasn't blown. I checked the bulbs and it wasn't blown either? What is a back up switch anyways?

It's on the transmission, once you put the car in reverse it turns the backup lights on.

^ yea check the wiring on that

the switch sits directly on top of the transmission, I have it already take off my parts car and in my actual car. Check the wiring for sure..... it sits RIGHT on top

So...........how would I get to it? Well I have to drop my transmission to check it?

well i was asked today if my right side reverse light was a fog light, but any how you can always spice into the wiring form the side that works and run it to the other light if you need it working asap.

no it's on TOP the tranny lol. you'll have to remove your airbox hose at least.. maybe the box itself, but it literally is right there. and is very very inconspicuous.... I removed it for richee3 and he ended up not needing it, but it took me a min to find it to begin with.

If its an automatic, the reverse lights are built into the neutral safety switch. I had similar issues as well. Check to see if the grounding points in your rear lamp assembly are properly seated (IE: check the screws to make sure they are tight, etc). Also look for grounding points along the wiring path from the engine to the rear.

Mine is actually a 5spd Manual Tranny. But I'll double check on the grounding wires.

Your thinking of the tranny being under the due to it being a FWD the tranny is on the driver side of the engine. Just look around on it and see if you see any broken sensors.

Can anyone get a picture of the sensor? I couldn't find it?
