Obd1-2 isn't a bigdeal if you send the harness out
My celica is a 94 also but my swap is from a 98
But call your local scrap yards if you can get the harness an ecu an keep the price of eather engine close to the same the 05 will have more power

>Quick question Smaay: I have access to a 94 1mz and an 05 1mz w/ vvt. Im trying to keep the cost as minimal as possible. I can get the 94 harness and ecu with the motor but not for the 05 1mz. I would have to source those separately. Which would you recommend? And would the obd1-2 thing be that big of a deal. (I have a 94 gt) Keep in mind I would be sending the wiring out to be sorted by someone else. Thanks in advance
it all depends on the cost, if you can source the VVT 1MZ stuff and keep the cost down then go for that. the nice thing about the VVT 1MZ is that its still a throttle cable, not DBW. but if everything is together for the 1MZ non VVT then i suggest getting that. get the part number for the ECU and make sure it has NO immobilizer! if its coming from a 5 speed car then just get that. makes things easier
Thanks guys and I work at a salvage yard but when they pull motors they cut the harness'. I think Im gonna go with the non vvt because we have an abundance of those but only one vvt. Really excited to get this going but wanna make sure I have everything sorted out before I start since it's my daily. Been missing the v6 powerband since my v6 camry damn that motor is smoooth
Side note: sorry for the clutter in your thread
