OBD1 Engine in a OBD2 car?? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #82406 5 posts Started by KAOS
I have a 5SFE for sale and someone with a 98 Camry is looking to buy it, but they're concerned about the emissions set up.

My thoughts are, if they use the extractors/exhaust and intake off the 98 Camry, it should bolt up and run right? After all; OBD2 is just more emissions sensors essentially, right?

To summarize; can they install my engine (OBD1) and use their harness/ECU to run it??

i think the Dizzy is different as well.
Yes. bloodMoney is more familiar with this than I am but he's been running an OBDI engine in his OBDII car for a while. You're essentially just using all the wiring and sensors from the OBDII car.

the engine is all the same, its just the electronics thats different. have the buyer use all their manifolds and sensors.
