Hello everyone,
Among CP, Wiseco, Probe and any others u may know....what do you guys think stands head and shoulders above the others...I'm driven to say the difference in performance of each brand to stand up to 20-30 psi and conditions surrounding those pressures is very little. But i'm wondering if anyone has any horror stories to share about experiences working with any....

I'm looking to get a set of 87mm and dont need any surprises...so some guidance would be well appreciated.

Engine: 3S-GTE 3rd Gen

I can share experience with my engine running on Wisecos and has really low oil consumption (so common for forged parts).

No more replicas... This is evolution... This isSS-four:)________[Featured Celica of 6gc.net @ 2010]_________
I used for many years Arias pistons, without problems in some times I running at 25 psi boost. Very much of my friend use Wiseco, i like more the Arias, never CP, I see twice broken the piston in thousends parts. I recomend Arias.
Remember, to use 87mm you have to bored the cilinder becouse the original is 86mm.
87mm is 1mm over sized, thats also .040 which is the most you want to bore the cylinder. get 86.5mm or .020 oversized first. its safer.

Im running Wiseco pistons in all my high HP cars. my 7th gen celica is making 545 to the wheels on wiseco pistons.

Weisco's are very reputable in the 3sgte application.

thanks for the heads up about not going any further on the bore....i havent pulled down anything yet to look at the block and just figured that i definitely cant stay at 86mm (wear and tear) so 87mm was a good candidate, but since you said 87mm shud be most we shud bore to...86.5mm is seeming waaaay more likely now after more reading and stuff.
only used Wiseco in my race motors and never once had a problem
I've got CP, no complaints yet. lol

i have used cp with the 2.2 stroker on two motors, one of them is making 600 in a mr2 the other is in a 5th gen, i like cp , pricy but with it. i have also used arias on my hondas builds.
Hi,

try to keep the bore as small as possible, i ordered a set of CP pistons in 86,25mm for my built, but unfrotunetly i can't can give you a good feedback becouse the engine is currently in built

satelite, do you have pictures of your damaged CP pistons so that i can get a better sight of the damage? pistons are often sacrified of other faults a pictures could help me understand smile.gif
