help on tint top - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #82119 7 posts Started by zd1818
I am planning to have a black top, Led boy had already done that, someone post his white car with black top, looks great so I am doing that as well,

the problem is I can not find a way to finish the edge, hope you guys know what I am trying to tell, some cars like BMW, the top is like a seperate piece, so it is easy to get the edge done and hide the tint film under the top piece. however the top of our celica is with the whole body and there is no place to hide the edge of the tint film.

anyone done this before? I dont want to paint the top:( any idea?

I would say tape it off an paint it then after pinstripe it to clean up the fuzziness that you might get on the edges
You would need some reaaally dark tint to get that to look good.
Possibly even a couple layers since your car is white.
Theres a shop locally that does the 3M carbon fibre wrap on roofs and it looks really good.
Maybe shop around and see if theres a shop around you that does that as well, or like said before paint it.
I really don't think tint will look good, nore will it hold up to the elements, or even pressure washing your car..

Use the carbon fiber vinyl sold on ebay. Then if you don't like it just take it off.
Or black vinyl is another choice too if you dont like the pattern of the cf. As for the edges maybe you could add a piece of plastic along the side of the edges the way BMWs have it to cover up where the vinyl stops.

QUOTEwhat hes saying is if you put blue lights in you car youll lose hp.
thanks guys, I will try pinstripe it and clean up, then I will try high pressure wash then see if it holds the tint.
