help! my bumper dont fit - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #82007 31 posts Started by dakotahwyatt
I bought this bumper becous I was lead to believe it would fit.
And so now I go to put it on well after the 30 day return and now I don't know what to do

You'll have that with lower priced bumpers. They usually take a lot of work to get proper fitment.

Lower lol I paid close to 300$ it is a vis bumper. idk can I cut the bumper and then refiberglass it back together it seems to narrow
That doesn't even look like it was molded for a celica. Gonna need lots of work. Ur gonna have to cut slits and make it fit. If not I'd keep the stock one and get add-on lips

it's possible to make it work but it's going to take a lot of work. I thought VIS parts weren't too bad... guess i'm wrong.

my long awaited celica, coming soon....is finally here!
You're going to lose more money. To make it fit perfectly flush, you'll need to bring it to a shop for them to work on it. YOu can do it yourself and see if you're able to flush it. Either way, good luck.
I have a invader bodykit. But I seen this one and it was different and I wanted it lol

i would send the picture to the retailer and request money back, because youll be wasting a lot of time trying to fix that.

low price 300, yes, believe it. Good bumpers go in the average of 1000+ and up. At least well reknown body kits.

sorry bro.

but next time, if anyone wants a cheap body kit think about it twice, its better to buy a used one, because u know it fits.

^^^ This. Get some estimates before dropping the car off and surprising your grandpa with a huge bill. VIS, Veilside, eBay, $300, $1,000,000, brand or cost doesn't matter if the bumper doesn't fit.

This is true
That came from Andy's? If so they normally pretty good about stuff like that, just explain to them the car was down for other work and now your trying to install there part but it looks like they sent you the wrong application. As long as your not trying to get money back they will help you, of course you will have to cover the shipping.

Yeah Andy auto
I thought VIS was suppose to be a higher end brand? Although $300 does sound fairly cheap considering my veilside front retails for $800. You sure it wasn't something like a VIS replica? That fitment is beyond horrible...
All my kit was from VIS and fitment sucked.. My whole kit sideskirts rear lip and front bumper all had to have a lot of work to get it to fit. Any fiber glass body kit will never fit perfect.. unless your very lucky.. i've went through two front bumpers from same place. First one was alot better fitting wise than my second one.. But thats how it'll always be.. goodluck man.
The celi blew up so he sold it to me the bumper isnt getting used
An it was a real vis not a nock off

My fiberglass veilside fit perfect. All body lines lined up. Looked like oem fitment.
i dont understand why these bodykit manufacturers dont make better molds or keep them in the molds for a longer time before popping them out, or they need to put some strengthining ribs into the first layer of glass, im betting that kit had some heavy shrinkage it really looks like a defect, most kits even if they are cheap will have better fitment not looking to be 2-3 inches off, i would contact vis themselves. that has to be the worst fitment ive seen. more the reason why id rather get a gt-four bumper and an aftermarket lip would be cheaper in the long run.
Real vis that don't fit? What a ****ty company. They're a miss or hit type of deal.
I'm so glad I never got this bumper, thanks for the heads up everyone (when I posted in my progress thread a while back).
Sorry to see the bad fitment, can't really trust stuff like that, it's usually a hit or miss
I wanted the bumper becouse it was different from everyone else but I no longer have a car its not a big deal tho thanks for all the help tho
i got my front bumper from vis and its fit like a glove, U CAN CLEARLY see that this bumper here have all the inside part of a celica but they cerntainly mistaken the mold of the shape of the outside whit another mold for another car....

VIS is a good brand but like all companies who manufacture things in large quantity you're bound to have SOME errors, and that where andy's comes in. Its why their stuff is cheaper then the manu. because they buy the parts that are sub-par for those companies. it doesn't mean they are damaged or unsafe, they just have minor (or in your case severe) defects.
I bought my sparco seats and the holes for the bracket where slightly off, my 5p straps, 1 strap is longer than the other and my bumper i bought was so botched it wasn't even close.
