break hardware question - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #81707 4 posts Started by Soulend
so, I have now, for two days in a row, have tried to replace my brakes... yesterday the guy at the store gave me the wrong pads and hardware (have me the caliper grommets actually). he said the computer gave him the wrong numbers. fair enough. so I got back to day, get seemingly the right size brakes and, from what I know, the right hardware for the pads.

well I couldn't get the pads on with the hardware, and the old hardware I have is shot or missing pieces, also look completely different from what the guy gave me. I did, with some modifying, get the pads in with the new hardware, but they were so tight against the rotor, I knew it just wasn't going to happen.

so does anyone know or have a picture of the correct hardware to get?

Thanks,

Kevin

oh and I have 97 ST brakes, front.

Thanks

Hardware from a dealer is cheaper than you might think. At least that way you get the right stuff

Bad part about that is... in my City(State even) do I have a dealership that stocks parts for anything past 2000 and probably 2005. so I have to wait a week to get parts...

ended up using half old hardware, and half new and they work fine.

Usually as long as you make sure to wire brush off the areas behind the hardware, you're good.
