Topic #81690 21 posts Started by WHATxTHExTIFF
Hey guys I'm having a problem with my 95 celica gt 5sfe motor maybe you guys could help me.
While driving ill see white smoke come out from under the hood and from the exhaust. Also while driving I notice that from the air vents white smoke comes out and fogs my windows. What's wrong with my car? Please help! Thanx in advance smile.gif
Sounds like you're burning oil, I would check for oil leaks. See if there are any noticeable wet spots under your hood.
you might have a huge exhaust leak too. be careful if you are taking in poisonous gases while driving

i thought white smoke is coolant and blue smoke is oil?
White smoke is poisonous? Oh **** I thought it was harmless I jus drive when the smoke comes out of the vents...And if I do have an exhaust leak how do I fix it? Do I get my exhaust rewelded?
If it is white smoke it is probably coolant. Does it smell like gas/oil or does it have a sweet smell to it?

Inside the car smells sweet and outside smells like oil and gas
thats not a good sign, might have blown your head gasket. are you in Torrance, Southern CA?

Yea I'm in Torrance southern California u r too?
Something to do with the cooling anyway. You can check to see if your oil on the dipstick looks like a snotty milkshake after start up or get a head gasket test done for cheap $ at a local garage. You may even want to check in the radiator for oil (black floating spots). Are you getting coolant pouring out of the overflow? Heater core maybe leaking?
blown headgasket.

blown hg, or unless you don't drive it very often, white smoke is also from water accumulating from moisture. I thought my gasket was bad too, as I get white smoke since 5 years ago but I did not see any blown headgasket issue. When I replace my exhaust though water drops from the pipe, so it wasn't a blown headgasket, I just drive it once in a blue moon, more like decoration cus I like using trucks on a daily basis.

defiantly head gasket no if and and buts

cant stop wont stop
But I thought if it was the head gasket I would be losing water..and I'm not losing water could it be my piston rings?
well it don't take much for it to smoke ......... your best bet is to drain all the rad fluid ...then start it for one minute and repeat that 2 or 3 times but make sure your car is stone cold before start up each time this will burn out any remaining antifreeze .. if it is the head gasket .. it will not smoke ... but most likely it is the head gasket

white smoke is the antifreeze burning .. oil will be blue

cant stop wont stop
have a compression test done. that will tell you all you need to know.
