Plasti Dip - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #81337 36 posts Started by BonzaiCelica
I really want to plastidip my wheels.
I've seen many videos on youtube, and it's a good stuff, but I have such question. Will it be any problem if I want the tyres on or off, or if I want to install/remove lug nuts?

Thanks

Have it on my wheels, looks and seems to be performing like a regular paint would. It actually isn't chip prone like the cheap rattlecan option, as it is slightly rubbery to touch. I havn't tried anything abrasive on them for that exact reason. They clean off easily though.

For tires on and off, just make sure when you paint it, you don't be a lazy arse and paint the wheel with it...otherwise the coats only go on the rim, which will stay with the rim.

Lucky Americans... for some odd reason the Home Deeps in Canada doesn't stock it... frown.gif

Apparently Piston Ring carries it.
Home Depot where I am has it, but the home depots are only in small towns like brandon and selkirk and not winnipeg.
But they are like 20 bucks a can.
I've heard you can order them on amazon.ca for like 4 or 8 bucks a can.

I suppose I should update this thread.

I bought 2 cans to do my 4 ADR rims at home depot for around $6 a can. 2 cans was MORE than enough to do my ADRs, but they dont have much surface area. I was able to do 3 coats on each rim with 2 cans and still have about a 1/4 of a can left. I also did my rear emblem with plasti-dip doing the exact thing shown in this video and it came out great. For prep all I did was clean the crap out of my rims and make sure they are 100% dry.
