Yay for local pick-up...kinda - 6G Celicas Forums

So I finally broke down and splurged. I went ahead and got me a set of TEINs. With the horrible yen rate what it is, they cost me a little over $1,800. I wasn't sure about it but when I found out that TEIN is discontinuing the pillow-top mounts (they have officially stopped making them this year) as well as possibly the entire set-up in the future, I wanted to grab these up ASAP. Lucky no shipping for me, just went to the parts store, ordered them with the customer service rep, waited a week for them to come from mainland, and Voila! See pics below, lol.

Sadly, they will have to wait for me to put them on until I put my car through JCI inspection (they are pretty strict when it comes to aftermarket) later this month but after that I will be golden! Yes I will make sure to post before and after pics.

on a side note, people who run TEIN (the JP ones) what do you guys have the height and dampening set at? I may get the EDFC later down the road but for now it will all be hand adjusted.

Some of the random stuff that was packed in. See that little bottle? It's a rust preventive spray, lol!

I'm surprised that bottle isn't labeled "Rust Preventuru."

Cool stuff. I almost cwm13.gif because I thought you meant $1800 for just springs. This is a nice setup though, hope it gives you many good kms.

Yup I'm running the same as you in my SS-II, happy with them. Interested to hear they are discontinuing this stuff, though 11+ years old I sort of understand why. Not running a EDFC, I think you have to cut trim in order to fit them, will check the manual though.

I've got mine set at about F 15 clicks and R 12 clicks for the damper.
Height F 345mm R 330mm +/-5% as per my NZ cert. this measures from the centre of hub to the top of the wheel arch (that way the size rims/tires doesn't affect the distance)
16" rims

Thanks for the info Rsuty. I may have to play with the height since I am running 17" rims with the same size tread-wall as you atm. On the damper is that clicks starting from far right or far left?

from the far left

Thats a great pick up =)

Rust, I don't think it's legal to show porn like that on this site.
