What I think when you think I care
In my opinion...I won't say its not normal; but its quite rare for the gt4. However I won't agree if you say that running lean may cause your turbo to glow. Bcoz if your were running too lean, your turbo would not have much time to glow or blow. Make sure your have enough cold air entering the engine bay and hot air escaping it.
Brothely yours, Rav4Race.
Hi,
the exhaust gas have ~900°C, yes this is normal after a hard run
but i must advise to cool down the engine/turbo after that, just drive the car normal a few minuetes
before you stop
the issue is that there is just a minimum of air flow to the engine bay, oil pressure and water flow at idle
greetz
KEEP COOL UNDER PRESSURE
The day I bought my gt-four and got home it was glowing just like that...
What I think when you think I care
as long as the exhaust side is glowing, your good to go, and obviously not the intake side, Sunny is right, after any hard run, or a run in general, it is always heaven to your turbo to sit and cool down while getting a nice lubrication bath, while your car is at idle, even with no turbo timer, let your car sit for 5min at idle, to allow to cool down, to shut off your car immediatly, could result in your turbo spinning at 20,000 rpms...dry! this will cause bearings/shaft to wear excessivly, the glowing part, is normal, exhaust heats up......
normal. i wouldnt worry bout it..
but take pics next time

Yup, Do it probably every day... (lets face it I like driving fast... even more so going up on ramps) though I get it like that porche picture like once a week or something... I honestly don't really have a slow speed... unless a girl is in the car, and has told me to slow the **** down... lol

It's perfectly normal, and the reason that it looks blueish on the photos is that the camera is fooled by the IR radiation.
I would say that if your turbo on the ST205 does not glow after you been driving it, you should get another car.. like an AT200 or so

As an AT200 owner, I can attest to wanting an ST205. I like the ST too though.

I agree with this

no sense in having a turbo if she's not gonna blow hard every so often
