Just got my intrax lowering springs....gotta put them on sometime this week...

I'll let all of you know how they ride on stock suspension once their on. hopefully some pics of before and after as well.

I have heard it's REALLY hard to install springs. Is this true?

Nope, springs aren't very hard to install on a sixth generation Celica. I've done it myself, and there's an article in the how-to section about how to install springs or coilovers onto your car if you want more information. It's a great article by Mynzeyes and even has pics of exactly what he's talking about. >>

if you can't follow that how to, then you may want to take your car to a shop. because that's how you do it...and that's really the only way to get the suspension off the car and change the springs...there's really only one way to do it...
i'm not taking it personally that you don't understand my how-to, but i'm just sayin, if you can't understnad it, you may not wanna do the job yourself, and have an import shop or somethin do it for you.

An intake is one thing, but springs... I think I'll go to a body shop and get the to do it when I get them. I'm don't want to make an attempt if i think I might have a problem.

alright....so today i'm doing my springs and i get the front two on.
so then i move to the back two and what do i encounter, a nice rusted
out allen wrench socket that won't ****ing turn for hte life of me.
we worked on it for about an hour, still no luck. so as of right now i'm ridin
dragster style hehe. >> so tomorrow i guess i'll just take it to a shop to get
the back ones put on. if it wasn't for that damn bolt, they would be on.
by the way, for anyone that wants or is htinkin about doing this task themselves
and wanting to save themself from paying. it's so easy to do. i never really do
any work on my car, but Mynzeyes(john) how-to was very straight forward.
so when their all on, i'll tell you how they ride and all that good stuff >>.

YEah that's exactly what happened when I was installing my rear coilovers. That linkage was so rusted up we had to install and grind my strut housing down while it was still attached to the car! Then after I completely finished the install I just took it to my friends shop and he tighted down everything.

IT's a farely easy install. Just becareful when you compress your springs. >> Just be patient and try not to rush into it.

I ran into the exact same problem on the left side of my car. It took us about half an hour to finally get that thing loose.

well i just got the rears done today! yay! the car looks soooo much better without the gaps, and i'm not disappointed at all in the ride. the ride feels just like stock, very stiff and not bouncy. anyways we'll see how they feel once they bet broken in more. and when i get pics, i'll put them up ASAP. if anyone has any questions or anything about the springs or install i'll be more than happy to talk.

How much of a drop did you get from the springs? Also, have you noticed if you scrub at all?

well right now the springs are gettin' broken in...the ride is still at excellent quality, the drop is just perfect too. lookin to get about a 1.75" drop from them. definitely makes the ride look alot sweeter. but word on the street has it that intrax supposedly discontinued the intrax for our cars. so if u can get a set, i'd snatch those up while you can. just a heads up guys. still tryin to get pics, the weather has been so crappy aroudn here and also need to get my hands on a digital camera. but as soon as i get pictures, i'll post them.

I'm was planning on getting those same springs to fill in the gap when I get my 18's back on. Where did you get them and how much does it usually cost to have them installed.

alright...as far as price i got them for 209 from this race/performance shop near me that ordered them. i'm assuming you could find them somewhere on the internet or your local shop could order them for you. next, i really couldn't tell you how much it costs to put them on since i put the front on myself, but i did take the back to a shop and they charged me 75 to do the back two. so i'm guessing anywhere from around 150 and up is what kinda price you'd be lookin at. any more questions just hit me up on AIm or whatever.

So you guys say that I could get the TRD springs and install them with normal tools and a jack with little problem. Man, I wish I had $280!
