So....yesterday while driving around my transmission started making a clicking and clanking sound while moving. Then just before i got home it started to bind while clicking and clanking. I know my throw out bearing has been going for a while as it has been whining a while. All the gears seem to work fine.

What do you think is wrong, is it just that the throw out bearing is finally destroyed or is the whole transmission gone?

may need a servicing. I think its just the bearing. have n oil change, if u see traces of metals in your oil, then it could b worse than wat i am thinking.

Okay, i thought about doing that as well, hopefully this weekend.

any other thoughts from anyone?

Well mine did that about a year ago and I got it to work again by messing with the shifter. It lasted about 6 months then
I was 1 block from where I live and all hell broke loose. I could not shift the sound was loud and metal was flying. Turned out to be the clutch was cracked and the springs broke out and were flying around. Some other symptoms may be

Taking off in first gear you feel some shaking(probably because of worn cluth and flywheel) and a slight whine while engaging to 3rd or 4th.
throwout making noise when in neutral and clucth out.
I put in a new clutch and fly it set me back 8 big ones but got a new slave and tranny fluid of course and it works like brand new.

Okay hopefully someone can help me out. I have a 2002 Toyota Celica. It has a 5 speed manual transmission. I brought it to a mechanic and had some stuff checked. They told me that they could hear a clicking noise coming from the transmission and they said that they would schedule me for an appointment to change the oil in it. I'm putting MT 90 for the oil. I guess this is the best for this type of transmission. Today I was coming back from work and I could hear clicking coming from under the dash area. It dont do it in first or second. But when I shift to third, fourth and fifth it makes the noise. I need to know if this has happened to anyone else and what is the cause. Is it a bearing? Clutch? Or is it about to **** the bed?

there might be some people on here that know about the newer celica's but this forum is only for 94-99 celicas.
does it it constantly click though, or just do it when shifting gears?

Constant clicking once I am going down the road and have already shifted. I posted about my 2002 because I dunno where to find 2002 forums. I figured that they weren't that much different.
