I was thinking of getting the HP Touchpad and I'd like to know if you guys would buy the 32GB for $150?

i had a chance to get one but i told myself it would take months before they get android running on it. and behold, the devs are nearly there. i totally regret my decision.
anyway i've tried it. for the price it's alright. webOS is pretty fast but there are barely any apps for it. i still prefer pulling out my laptop (which is thinner and lighter than the touchpad) for any serious computing. but once android is ported over successfully it will be totally worth it.

where are you getting the touchpad?

I was trying to get one to use at work, but no more are currently available... So my work bought me an ipad2. I really liked it because it ran flash. Biggest selling point imo.

already have one works fine great for moving around at work or home. and you can't beat it for just 150 when all other go for 600 at 32GB. has plenty of apps i us it mostly for web surfing and email.

Geez for that price I'd give it a shot. Who's selling them at that price?

Correct. HP is using flash, which is why I want one. The ticketing system I use in my IT department relies heavily on it. The iPad is fine though... Can't run reports to get metrics on it, but it does pretty much everything else.

i have no idea i don't even notice things like that i have a droid phone for like 2yrs so smudges and fingerprints don't bother me but ill take a look at it and see if it does, also it does come with a microfiber rag of w/e its called to clean it with, like i said before though its 150. what i would do its check all the things ipad can do and touchpad can't and see if it worth the extra 400 buck (hint its not lol) i would never buy a tablet to me its mostly a toy at the end of the day great features and all so i wouldn't spend the money but for 150 its a no brainer. also from all the underground stuff there doing the hole android os over the web os which will get you all the android apps tweakers and what not so there is defiantly potential there thats what im most looking forward to.

I wouldn't count on it. Adobe has made it pretty clear that they will not publish flash for Apple.

I'm not a big fan of tablets and especially not a fan of HP products but the way I see it, it's only $150. If you're going to get a tablet, knowing it will be pitifully outdated in 6 months, the Touchpad seems like good value.

Thanks for all your input! I have decided to get one since it's only $150 compared to an iPad which costs more than twice of the Touchpad. Seems like a decent price for surfing the net and doin lil stuff.

epocsirhc - I am getting it directly from HP. I believe it is sold out to the public but they have a promotional sale for employees only. Girlfriend will buy it for me!

can you ask your girlfriend if there will be another batch of touchpads in october? rumors are that hp has a contract with the manufacturer to produce so-and-so million of touchpads and the next wave of touchpads will be released in october for the same price.

My reps at Zones and PC Mall told me the same thing. Expect another large batch to be made, and I'll get a few then.

Ok. I will let you guys know if I hear anything about the next batch would be. There is one on the 28th but this is for emplyoees only.
