High Beams have magically not worked - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #80695 4 posts Started by JPATTT
Here is the problem:

My high beams are currently not working, which i thought were the bulbs and replaced them, but then i notice when i turn on my high beams there is no indicator that comes on in the instrument displays.

Is there a fuse for the high beams?

Or is it my wiring of the headlights. i read somewhere the it might be losing its ground?

Im extremely novice dealing with the electricals of the car so any help or point me to the right direction would be great.

Thanks
try to "flash" the high beams. pull the stalk towards you. if they work the circuit is good.

it might be that stalk

yeah nothing at all..so the stalk (lights lever) is bad?
near your steering wheel there is an 18 pin connector.

pin 8 should be red-white

check that with the highbeam switch on you have continuity to ground.

if not, check if you have 12v to ground on the same pin.

if you have a ground, its the wiring between the switch and the headlights

if you have 12v, test pin 17 (white-black) for continuity to ground.

if u have ground, its the switch, if 12v, there is a break between the wiring there and ground
