205/55/16 on a 95 Celica - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #80106 21 posts Started by m2736185
A friend of mine is selling me their 205/55/16 rims from their civic. Can anyone tell me if there is any rubbing or how this size fits on a 95 celica
civic rims dont fit and will never fit on a celica

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Most likely wrong bolt pattern, and definately wrong offset

That's a tire size, not wheel size.

FYI civic 5 lugs are NOT 5x100... but 5x4.5 or 5x114.3

Anyway... that tire size is about 1-1.5 inches too big based on speedo readings for the celica... but whether or not it'll "fit" is dependent on your definition of "fit"

That's a tire size... not a wheel/rim size. Wheels/rims are generally listed by the rim diameter, followed by the width. Something like 15x7 (15 inches in diameter by 7 inches in width). In addition, there are other measurements as offset, listed by mm, and on occasion center bore diameter.

To answer your question, No... Camry wheels have a 5x114.3 pattern so Camry wheels do NOT fit. In addition, the tire size you listed (215/60/16) is a fatty passenger tire size and is too big for a celica.

Common Cars that have a 5x100 pattern... off the top of my head, Subarus... Volkwagens... Scion TC... Dodge neons... and they don't all necessarily fit the celica

205/55r-16 tires are too big for the celica.

I don't htink this would fit any car? Lmao.
But seriously man, its not that difficult, if its not 5x100 bolt pattern, it will 100% not fit.

5x100 is common to Celica and variants, and Subaru. Hard pressed to find any other common car which can straight swap wheels with us

I'm running 205/55R16 at the moment, they are about right for rolling diameter but it's utter **** 215/50R16 is the go

I found someone locally that drills rims to make them fit. What do you guys think about drilling?

Seems sketchy... Only because those wheels are dual drilled already.

Drilling rims will be very difficult and unsafe. You're modifying a highly enginnered piece of metal.

It be difficult to drill the holes perfectly square. (it might wobble like an unbalanced tire...permanently)

I doubt the holes will be counter sunk, making it weaker, and also u run the chance of disturbing the structural stability by taking out metal so close to other holes in it. the center of the wheel sees the most torque = deformation under acceleration/braking.
