What concerns me is his unwillingness to come post in this thread and man up about his reliability problems. Waiting for parts for a year is absurd and he should not be allowed to continue stealing from members. I would be all over you, my cc company, the IC3 site, local law enforcement, etc. if you advertised a swap and I didn't have all of it in a month and communication was as poor as Jim's.
I honestly think that he thinks he is "untouchable" because him and Manny are friends. I hope you come down on him hard, Manny. People here are looking up to the Moderators in times like this to get things rolling.

While mods can help in many situations, it isn't their job to be mediators for buying/selling disputes. This is a buyer-beware world and you need to make sure you cover your ass any time you send someone money. The best the board can do is have marketplace ratings so that people have an idea of what a buyer/seller is like, and whether they can be trusted.
Furthermore, sellers need to own up to the fact they maybe overwhelmed with what they can provide. As soon as you have someone's money it is a priority to get their goods out to them in a timely and effective manner. I've read some of the stories on here and people have been waiting months for parts? That's unfathomable. If I don't have what I purchased within a couple weeks, there is hell to pay. And by hell, I'm talking legal action and law enforcement. It's a straight-up crime to take money from someone and not provide the goods/services you are promised.
Expect the best, prepare for the worst. Always cover your ass. Don't do a buyer a "favor" by taking a short cut in providing funds, always have a means to prove a transaction occurred (IMs/PMs/E-mails/Receipts etc.) and agree to have a timetable for deliver; this is something lots of people don't do. Put it in writing in the chat logs that the goods are to be delivered by such a date. Don't pay in cash, there's no paper-trail, and no method to get your money back (unless this is a face-to-face transaction).
