Eibach pro kit - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #79492 11 posts Started by Euphoria
Hey, I've been running Eibach pro-kit with kyb's for a couple years now, whilst they are an awsome spring on a smooth road they are almost unbearable on a rough road, has anyone found them this stiff?

I'm also thinking maybe its hitting the bump stop as when I put them in I got new bump stops and they were longer than standard ones :s, I'm putting strut mounts in soon, would it be wise to trim them?

thanks.
if you installed bump stops, for lowered cars, its best to cut off one section to allow play.

I've got Pros w/ KYBs on mine and its fine for all types of daily driving. It's definitely stiffer than the OEM suspension, but nothing like KONIs set to full stiffness.

I was able to do a comparison this past week for both setups and I have to say that I much prefer my setup for DD situations. If I tracked the car more, I would consider the KONIs or a coilover setup as there are more adjustment options.

When I installed my Tanabe's; they recommended cutting two sections (IIRC) off the bump stops...

... I would assume that you would need to trim the bump stops on any application if you were lowering... thumbsup.gif

the 1 section i cut off was fine, i was dropped on springs for 2" at the time, it was awesome compared to no bump stops. but coilovers FTW

I've got the Sportline kit and it is fine for me, but I don't really drive on rough roads much so I don't notice harshness much.

I wish I got sportlines now, they're not as stiff and they lower more but are still a great spring.

I think I will just have to try cutting the bump stops when I change strut mounts and see if that helps much.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'd be completely happy with them if the front was .5" lower, but otherwise I'm really content. I didn't know that the Pro kit was stiffer, I guess Eibach intended it to be the more functional kit, rather than just visually lowering? I would've though the Sportline kit was just as stiff, if not stiffer.

Yeah the pro-kit is aimed more at handling than lowering, they only lower 1 inch from what I remember.

if you have the sportlines now, i think you shouldve got the Intrax springs. they pretty much drop almost 2". i had em for 2 years, nice and purple springs.

Yeah, yeah, so I've heard. Judging by Faust's pics, they'd probably sit the car nice and low (for springs at least) with 16's. Thing is, do they also give a comfortable ride, paired with something like a GR-2 strut?
