My cv joint on my drivers side popped out today when i was reversing out of work, steering was on full lock and then the cv pulled out of the Hub and tore open the boot. i jacked up the car and managed to pushed the cv back in BY HAND!!! so i drove it home (SCARYIST THING EVER I MUST SAY) drove fine but pulling into my driveway it popped out again. Can anyone help me? what needs replacing, im guessing the circlip has shat itslef or do i need to replace the whole cv assembly kindasad.gif
do the whole lot i say, the cv should give a bit of in and out movement to stop it popping out of the gearbox.

They aren't all that expensive.

Jesus christ, first Celica I've ever heard of to have a CV joint problem, torn boots are normal around 160,000+ Kms, but never heard of bad CV joints kindasad.gif

let us know if you dont have a good mechanic, i can refer you to mine

maybe the workers were on strike when they made my car lol never ending problems with it. had to get the brakes overhauled last wof, rebuild cailpers, new rotors and pads, and of course the bitch of a proportioning valve! now this mmm an TVR is more relible than this celica!!!

Thanks delusionz i got a good mechanic he does cashies for me, my family and i know him well smile.gif ill let u guys know what part failed on me when we pull it apart.

Oh btw i had a full wheel aligment yesterday at this tyre place and when i was driving home i noticed a slight vibration coming from the front wheels, like as if both front tyres were low on pressure, surely these guys didnt cause this?
does your steering wheel feel lighter and the car easier to steer?

i dunno i always watch the computer screen and make sure whatever they adjust it goes to centre lol if they make anything worse i sure let them know

car always feels funny after an allignment its because you're not used to driving a straight car, like sometimes right after an allignment the car drives straighter if you just let go of the steering wheel, and its actually your own hands jerking the car around the place because thats how you got used to correcting the car not driving straight.

they did a real good job with it. i dont think the steering feels any lighter but its so easy to keep her in a straight line now smile.gif I got the print out on what the changed etc. dont really have the time to watch them do it all lol. hey hows ur car going? sorted out ur overboost problems?
nah not yet, the little circlip at the back holding the actuator arm is a pain in the ass, I'm probably gonna end up getting the wastegate ported a bit anyways, I seriously fail to see how I'm ever gonna fix this though, I get 1 bar of boost on quarter throttle, i barely want to be running 1 bar of boost on full throttle :S damn thing is hitting 20psi faster than my ecu can say hey wtf is going on here *fuel cut*

also feels like the ecu is pulling the timing over 1 bar around 4500 rpm so it must be leaning out well before fuel cut.

car is really sluggish on 95 octane but goes fkn nuts on 98 octane

so whatever i do, i really wanna keep it under 1bar which is a shame because the car could potentially make phenomenal power with 18 - 20psi from 4000 to 7000

wanna come for a boost some time?

dam that sucks, having to baby the throttle... guess it can all be soved with deeper pockets, but dam 98 octane that **** is expensive, what 95 octane did u use becasue that vpower stuff is **** i reckon mobils 95 turns my car into a lil rocket. biggrin.gif ID LOVE TO COME FOR A BOOST smile.gif never been in a turbo 4wd car before
