Making braided lines - 6G Celicas Forums

I installed BAER proportioning valves inside the car under the drivers seat. I currently have hardlines run through the firewall to the valves but would like to replace them with stainless braided lines. Is this possible. I've never worked with braided line and dont know how to attach fittings to braided line or if its even dooable. If anyone has ever worked with this stuff before let me know any help is appreciated.

Braided line is usually used to replace the rubber line from the hard line to the caliper in the wheel wells. Upgrading from metal hard line to braided wouldn't do much i don't think.

Hardlines > stainless braided > rubber


Hardlines are the best (zero expansion) however they do not allow for the flexing required of the caliper location ect.
Which is why you use SS braided.

Yes i know all of that but because of the location flexlines would give me a cleaner look and i would be able to hide them better. I put them under my seat so whenever i get my car fully done i dont have to pop the hood to adjust them. And mainly because its just different.

so when they leak, you know when its leaking...

steel braided lines are not hard to put together. if you havent done it before it can be tricky, but once you know what you are doing its cake.


basically you take the AN fitting apart, the lower section gets pressed onto the braided line, or the braided line actually gets pushed into it. then you screw the other half of the AN fitting together clamping the braided line into the fitting.


i think ill make a short how to thread since i make them alot.

That would be awesome. BTW what is the AN fitting. sorry for my ignorance I'm not much with terminology.
