New 6GC owner - 6G Celicas Forums

I'm KM over at CelicaTech.
Recently bought my first 6th gen for a whole $500.

I'm definitely not new to Celicas, as this is my fourth one.
I've owned three 5th gens: a GTS, a GT, and a 4age20v ST.

The engine bay's a nightmare, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing stuff, but I've got a 104k mile ST coupe with a 30k mile 7AFE (so no EGR valve).
Other than a handful of engine bay issues, the interior's perfect with black and red faux-leather seats and black plastics.

Just figured I'd actually sign up instead of lurking to find answers. wink.gif

Sounds like a good pickup! Since you're familiar with the 20v 4A-GE, why not swap one into your 6th gen? It'll solve your engine bay nightmares wink.gif

Just a personal preference, but I don't want a 20v in a 6th gen coupe.
My realistic dream build involves a 6th gen hatch, a 20v blacktop head, a 7a block, and a turbo.

I'm a bit of a smaller dog over here KM. I tried changing my screen name over here a while back but apparently my request got ignored. You would sooner know me as "MCcelica" than whats over on the left of this page. I can't really object until my project is finished, but once that happens I won't have any green on my yota.

Do it, Hector. 4A-GZE swap, or the 4A-GE Silvertop, bolted up with the 6 speed trans from a 7th gen Celica... :drool:

PM'd, Hector. Back on topic, OP, I read your thread on fixing the engine bay up. You're making some good progress! Be sure to post some pics of the car up!

No offense or anything, but to me (and its just my opinion) that is a waste of a 20v...that could be doing a corolla chassis REAL GOOD, only does a FWD celi a little good...I feel like there are swaps that don't even cost much more that have proven more effective for FWD.

I mean, you have to put the effing thing in sideways just to get it to work!!!

It's called a C60. I've heard that the gear ratios wouldn't do too well though.

You do know you can buy a Blacktop 20V already with a 6 speed LSD manual gear box, right! JDM Engine Depot in NJ has them from time to time.
