My 7AFE turboed - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #7722 6 posts Started by ArizonaRed
I just recently added a turbo kit into my 7AFE. Added a T25 turbo, downpipe, manifold, map box, oil regulator, blow off valve, intake. The downpipe had to be welded and my alternator and fuse box had to be moved. I have an oil leak that I cant tell where its coming from, maybe the oil return line. There is no power increase, the engine idles up and down on its own while in park and neutral. I drive the car at least 300 miles every weekend and usually lose about a quart of oil. When i accelerate it will sometimes push forward and sometimes resist and not boost. I think my car has less power with the mods on it than it did before. I thought my breaks were going out but it turned out to be that oil was all over them from the leak. Anybody got suggestions on this frankenstein car? The people down here in Georgia dont know anything about my car. The Toyota dealership mechanics and custom shops cant help. I have no smoke coming from the engine. The engine has 109000 on it. im using automatic trans. If anybody is in GA, theyre welcome to look at it. It was dynoed and results were bare bones.

well finding an oil leak is simple just look for the spot were the oil is the cleanest.. and or you see bubbling... that were your oil leak is coming from.. hope that helps you out.

Hmmm...just lay white towels under the car and let it sit after driving it. Did you put Teflon thread in the fitting threads before insalling them? Maybe you used the wrong fitting somewhere in the oil feed line or oil return, but chances are it's in the oil feed line because driving it and loosing a quart is insane, so it's probably pressurized oil coming out. Also, you're the only Turbo ST setup that hasn't smoked...how did you achieve that? Do you have pictures of your vacuum lines so I can compare them to mine when I go back home next month? >smile.gif>

Also, where did you get the oil regulator? I need one for mine. >smile.gif>
