Engine Vibration! - 6G Celicas Forums

This may have been posted already, but I did a search and came up with nada! We all know that when you install the Kirkosaurus Engine Mounts, the vibration of the car at idle is increased due to the engine mounts being much more stiff. That's not what this topic is about. What I would like to know is does the vibration reduce after a while? Perhaps the mounts need breaking in and continues to shake the life out of my steering wheel until it breaks in? I know a lot of people say a little bit more vibration is added, but my type of vibration is CRAZY! It feels like I'm holding a jackhammer when I'm holding the steering wheel. Only at idle though, while driving and the rpm's are above 1500 it's pure beautiful!

ya bro its normal, mine did it to and it has gotten progressively better now it still vibrates just not as crazy.

Pheww! I love the response of my engine now! Just HATE my car at idle and at take off. Thanks bro!
yup that is exactly how it is lol. seems the car is much more connected now, well i used the kirkosaurus inserts, and the brass shifter bushings. between those two things its made it much more enjoyable to drive and seem more connected.

i remember the night i put mine in and started it up. so much vibration.
you get used to it after a while. or maybe it wears in. all i know is that it isnt as bad as that first night

Gonna give these a try, just order a set.
Forgot to post, Got em, fit perfect, guaranteed atleast 5hp-10hp to wheels.
hard to believe...but it will work....some takes longer to break into it...it shook for a couple of months on mine....it finally quiet down with the shaking...you just have to bare with it for a while, which seemed like forever.
no.. but it provides better response and reduces wheel hop.

Technically yes, the power reaching the wheels is ~15-25% less than the power the engine produces. By reducing the engine movement and/or drive-train flex, more power will be transmitted, which results in more power reaching the wheels.
These mounts are awesome. I have them in both my race cars and they drastically reduce engine movement and im racing off road so everything is being jarred to hell and back. The only downside is installing the rear one. It can be a real pain in the A.

If you notch the rear motor mount a little it makes the job really easy as you gain more clearance. Thank you Mr. Plasma cutter.

are you guys using solid mounts?

i sent my engine mounts to a suspension shop and they filled mine with Nolathane (another brand for polyurethane bushes) and they also made the same little movement gaps that my stock rubber mounts had.

still rattles like hell like a racing car or a bus, but nothing as bad as if i had solid mounts? which would be like having ur engine welded in
