Intermittent noise from rear wheel... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #76185 3 posts Started by jaq1967
Hi, I've got an ST202 94' 3G-SE. Recently the car has made a weird voice from the rear drivers wheel. Kind of a knocking/rubbing noise while wheel is rotating. Thought I had a flat tyre at 1st. Tyre was ok! Noise happens after running from cold or reasonably cold and continues for maybe 500m before settling. Could this be the beginning of bearing being knacked? Thanks...
Make sure all lug nuts are tight, I had a similar experience and found out my lugs were lose. Then jack the car up and try to wiggle the tire, place hands on opposite sides of the tires and pull with one hand and push with the other. If the wheel wiggles then you have a bad wheel bearing (if lug nuts are tight). If the wheel doesn't wiggle the bearing could still be bad and just starting to go bad.

Also check the brake system on that wheel.
agreed^ look to see if your glide pins are froze. i had close to the same probleme, and i soon found out it was my glide pin on the calpier to bracket.
