can someone tell me?
i cant even enjoy the feeling of speeding without having to worry about being on e within 5 minutes.

someone help me or guide me.
hahah thanks.
to start this off, is your gas tank leaking?
check the vac lines running to your MAP sensor. If there is a hole or one is not hooked up it will put you in a type of "safe mode" that just throws tons of gas into the mix. We used to use it for a bootleg flamethrower back in the day laugh.gif

I totally thought to write check your MAP sensor but I had one of those "nahh, they'll think I'm dumb" moments. Looks like it was a legit suggestion lol

He said 5 minutes and its on E. I have a gutted cat and it is definitly not on E after even multiple hours of getting on it. In fact, it really doesn't do that much to my mileage at all. I'm pretty sure OP has a more severe problem then gutted cat.

Has to be a leak in the fuel system if you're not exagerating too much.

is 5 minutes an exaggeration? bc if its not, u have a serious hole somewhere... could b a whole in the line post fuel pump causing ur engine to keep sending a large demand signal to ur pump and the pump pushing more fuel, most of which is spilling out

ha nah not 5 minutes persay but it drains pretty fast. and like when the car is angled on a hill up or down or making a circular turn like a turn around the gas indicator rises or falls. i dont get it,

The car just has a floating device that is connected to a potentiometer. When you're on a hill or taking sharp turns the gas level changes were the floaty is.

My Corolla is pretty bad with gas readings. It fluctuates +- a quarter tank on a given trip.

Have you actually calculated your gas mileage? That would be more helpful than just that 'it goes to E fast'

This.

Just for clarity's sake:

1. Fill tank
2. Zero odometer
3. Drive around
4. Fill tank again
5. Divide odometer reading by amount of gas put in at the pump
6. ???
7. Profit!

yeah, just bc the gauge says E doesnt mean that its actually empty... my dad has a truck that always reads at about 2/3 of a tank and the odometer doesnt work so he just puts gas in it every couple of days... i would guess u more than likely have a faulty guage
When you fill up your tank, how many gallons do you end up putting in on average?

i think like 10
And..... How many miles do you get before you decide you have to fill up again?
Keep in mind the tank is 15.9 gallons. So if you're filling it with 10 when it's "empty," you've got 5.9 gallons still in there smile.gif

no way is it 15.9, I could have sworn I put in at least 15 or 16 gallons when it's in between E and a quarter tank...

It's a 60 liter tank = 13 UK Gal. = 15.9 US Gal. tank guaranteed.

oh sh!t haha so that means my mpg calculation was off because I thought I had a 18 gallon tank lol

big ooops! lol
i'm getting better gas mileage than i thought!
It happens, i always thought i had a smaller tank than 15.9 gallons though. biggrin.gif Good to hear your getting good gas mileage though! Do you have 10% ethanol in your gas there?
i believe so? lol i'll check next time im at the pump
