After dropping the idea of using ST205 calipers on a McPherson suspension i searched for radial-mount calipers and found some from Porsche that where perfect, they come from a 996 Turbo/GT3.
I use them with stock Toyota brake discs for the ST205.

those look amazingg on there! IMO it would look better without the Porsche lettering on there.
How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

Calipers (used) 480€, caliper brackets (custom made) 240€, discs 200€ .. together about 920€ or 1250$

nice! how did you get abs on your celica???

the ABS sensor doesn't connect to the caliper, it connects near the knuckle or some where around there so the change in calipers wouldnt make a difference.

no you dont get it. he has a 1994 celica st. And If Im not mistaken I thought ST Celica's did not come with the option for ABS, it comes stock with drum brakes in the rear!!

ABS or not doesn't matter. you can still use the caliper. ABS matters for Master Cylinder

just one question. Did you have troubles bleeding the brakes since the bleeder is on the lowest point of the caliper?

Your calipers are on the wrong side.....The bleed screws are at the TOP.





I like what you did with the PCAR brakes.....just need to get the put on correctly...

Correct and Wrong, ABS only concernes the axle(wheel speed sensor) and the abs mod. There is no diff. in the master cylinder.

All Celicas in Germany got ABS and disc brakes in the rear, even the ST

We had to put the calipers with the bleed screws this way, on the 996 Porsche the calipers are on the other side of the steering knuckle and they got 2 different pistons sizes. There's only one direction you can install calipers like that without sacrificing some performance. On my first pic you can see that the left piston is smaller then the right one, the brake disc should always first pass the smaller piston and then the bigger for best performance and wear.

It's not easy to bleed them now but... how often do i have to bleed my calipers..
Maybe i will just swap the screws and the brake line, but i will have to get a custom line made for this.

Maybe you should email Porsche and tell them they are doing it wrong then...
Probably should just mount the right caliper on the right instead....

Porsche does nothing wrong .. here is a pic how they are mounted on the Porsche:



The calipers are one the right sides on my car, they're just supposed to be mounted on the other side of the steering knuckel where the steering arms are on our cars. If i would put the left caliper on the right side and the right caliper on the left the whole thing with the different sized pistons would be counterproductive

great work, sadly is not a cost efficient option for most, but great work on your part.

remove the porsche letters and it'll look a lot better.

and the calipers are on the right side, but due to bolting point they are rotated ~ 90 degrees forward, I saw that right away lol, maybe I've been looking at too many brake systems.
about the bleeding point, I'd leave them like that, bleeding them I'm sure is tough but not impossible and you don't have to do it once a week anyways.

Props to you man, don't remove the logo.
