Front Strut Brace Question - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #75484 12 posts Started by ChfNix
I have a Cusco type OS front strut bar and I don't like the way it pushes down on the brake fluid reservoir, are their any out there that don't have this problem?

I like the TRD one but I don't want to spend that kind of money unless it's gonna solve my problem!

Any US ST guys out there have any input on this?

Yes I did a search but I couldn't tell from the pics....

there's the ebay ones but I don't think they compare to those (TRD, Cusco).

I had a TRD for a while, it doesn't push the brake resevoir down but it is on the way, so if you need to add fluid you'll need to remove the bar.

Ya I'm looking for a higher quality one than those.

Cool, thanks! I think I will be going with the TRD one!

I'm gunna partially highjack this thread, what are the differences between the 2point and 3point strutbars? Does a 3point actually do that much better than a 2point?

Its all good!

I would think so, but I don't have any personal experience... (Yet!)

I have also considered this upgrade for my civic as well but ONLY if someone can somehow prove to me how much better it is.

It's a yes and no answer.
With a 2point you take the twisting of the struts into the bar, with a 3point you take the twisting in the bar and put it to the car.
Will you notice the diff. no, its like poly bushings they help just not in a noticeable diff.

I am an avid auto-x competitor and a rookie rallycross competitor, if the 3point prevents me from bending a 2point I will probably switch to the 3point, smile.gif thanks for the info, I will most certainly be considering this change to both my civic and celica.

3 point is not recommended for rally driving as the energy transferred to the chassis can crack your windshield, like on a jump / sudden deep etc

Edit. Spelling

Yes like Culpable said transferring that amount over a long period of time(racing) to the chasis more specifically the fire wall can have chances of cracking the glass. BUT tempered glass isnt recommended for rally racing(or any racing) either.
lol rallycross is not WRC at all, it's autocross on a gravel parking lot, we also do winter autocross too. As well my celica will not be seeing any competition hours.
