How easy is it to install components in our rear speakers? Just a matter of taking vent off and unscrewing speaker or is it like the front and has a metal peice that goes around it?
you have to remove the rear seats by the bolts in the back of the seats, there are 2 on each seat. then just pull up on the bottom of the seats in the front and the surround will slide over the back mount. then just remove all the screws. its in a plastic mount but is removed pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
if you don't mind a little advice i'd stick with components up front and then put some drivers in the rear. 1 set of tweeters is enough for the size of the cabin. The drivers will also give you more mid bass to compliment your system. And they are generally cheaper too. I used to have components both front and rear and then i switched and it sounds much better.
I disagree. The rear fill is necessary for the full sound quality stage. I had just the components runnin in front, and it sounded horrible. Get some mids for the back. As for getting them installed, ya you gotta take out the back seats. The bolts are behind the seats on each bottom corner of the seat. Do the work, or get some one to do it for you. I did the work. >> Ed.
