Removing Rivits? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #75019 6 posts Started by mgnt232
So I bought supra side skirts, and they are on there way here...from cali of course frown.gif... anyway my old sideskirts are riveted on there, but i have no idea how to get them off.
Can I just take a small flat head and pound off the head of the rivet? I dont want to ruin the old sideskirts though.
thanks for anyhelp smile.gif

knock out center of rivet with punch, drill off head of rivet gently.

that can work also, but sometimes it can be hard to get the drill started unto steel surrounded by aluminum and you end up off center and make an oblonged hole. less of an issue with small rivets, but on larger ones its easier to knock the middle out.

yeah the rivets I used were super small, just used a tiny drill bit, and it worked pretty good smile.gif now just waiting on the new sides....and waiting....and waitinggg. ugh hate cali to NY shipping frown.gif
