So mine, along with alot of other red celi's i have seen, all have pinkish door handles. I assume it was some sort of a faint color difference and with it being the handles and being touch it wears away? But my stock mirrors looked like this too, not sure why.
Anyway I decided today was the last day for them!
But I also wanted to keep the key thing the silver metal color, so a good bit of info, a nickel fits in the spot absolutely perfect!
So some before and afters, tell me what you think (i went black to go with the rims/tails/sidemarkers/ect)






And Yes i got hit! In a parking garage at a hotel between 3am and 5:30am! I was pissed!

I like the gas door, not a huge fan of the door handles or front bumper. lol but all in all its a nice car.

Not bad its just a shame no matter what you do the shininess will eventually fade from using it all the time, but it looks good IMO

The gas door is a nice touch. I'd do it myself, but my Celi is black and a color on black doesn't look as good as black on a color

Thanks everyone and i know its gonna be faded in the near future, but its real easy to spray it over again, so that what ill do lol.
And I cant wait to see someone else do it with a diff color, would be interesting

I actually didnt take them out, because its alot more of a hassle. But all you have to do is get some 1" painters tape (or less) and tape closely around the edges (be sure to take your time, it takes longer to prepare than to paint ) but as long as you get around the edges or the handle pretty well with paint, grab some newpaper (or loose leaf like I did because I had no newspaper) and just "mask off" an area so over spray doesnt get on your car. And take a nickel and place it in the key hole spot, as its a perfect size, and it stays in there due to the slight tilt of the handle.
Just take your time, its pretty simple, and always wait at least an hour before touching it, although 24 hours is recommended.

i like this alot ive done similar stuff with my black celi, like the interior trim, calipers etc, with red. i also painted the top and hood red

You know this is funny, because on my old Sunfire, my door handles and mirrors were black and I painted them red to match the car. Hahaha

Your handles were faded due to obviously people touching them - red is also the fastest automotive color to fade, my Dad's old Geo Prism was turning pink before he got rid of it.

Your mirrors were suffering sun damage, most likely. Mine were too - a little rubbing compound and a powerball took care of those though.

Personally I think the JDM sticker is a tad much and the gas tank door sticks out a little too much, but hey, it's your car. The door handles are nice and subtle though.
