I'm super busy with work, so haven't looked into the details of the meet...but yeah, SoCal seems good. Saturday most likely. Spring date. I'll need to know how many people will be attending before committing to shirts and attendance give-aways.

So let's here it from people about there spring break schedules.

Hear* God nam...sometimes i really worry about you...
My spring break is april 18-23, and then im out on may 21st. But i dont have any friday class so really any weekend is good for me. I think the later the better, but then we run the risk of it being hot again.

I like how you fixed "here" but not "their". wink.gif

Attending
1. CAMAricer - charcoal, cooking utensils, canopy, etc.
2. Suprakid-Sledgehammer
3. kevinkoda - bottled water and soda

The whole town smells of poo, and the house smells like poo too. So much poo, I cannot subject anyone to the poo smell. I myself have had to adapt to the poo situation. Because of my environment, I have mutated and lost the ability to smell. However with the loss of my sense of smell, my other senses were heightened. I now have DareDevil like abilities, and can spot a Celica from many miles away. I can leap across building roof tops and hear a pin drop from the busy streets below. Ever since my relocation to this poo town, I have become MaskedMan v2.0.

The drive from NorCal to Socal (and back up to NorCal) does suck, but a common misconception is that I actually live close to what people would consider the usual SoCal laugh.gif. I do live in SoCal, but in order to get to my area, you have to drive South and then East for awhile. You guys don't wanna drive out this way. It will make your drive back home even worse. Here's the math I just did in my head...

It is about a 100 miles from the meet location (est.) to my place. So that's 200 miles there and back to where you started. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and say that your car does 30mpg. Estimated gas price at the time will be $3.50. So $3.50 x 3.5 is $12.25, x2 = $24.50 per car in gas, to drive from the meet location, to my house, and back to the meet location. If there are 3 of you traveling in 3 separate cars, then the cost of gas will need to be multiplied by 3. So this comes out to a total of $73.50. And that is if all 3 of your cars are making 30mpg, but I assume your cars will be heavier if you packed stuff to bring to the meet (ie food, drinks, clothes, bitches, hoes, GFs, hookers [err I mean call girls]), so your mpg will drop slightly from what you may be used to. For $73.50, you could split a hotel room and maybe even get 2 beds. Heck, if you had a 4th person chip in, then you might even get beds without suspicious stains on them (might). Getting a hotel room in the area will also save you some driving time. Just something to consider smile.gif.

Just a reminder for everyone. Make sure you have a front license plate on your car laugh.gif. I got a fix it ticket for it at the last meet, and even though I got it written off, it still cost me $25 for a processing fee and I had to go to the CHP office. Even if you are from out of state, these rules still apply to you, as I've been ticketed for no front plate on a car that had Pennsylvania plates in the rear. Can you fight it in court? Of course you can, but if you're from out of state, do you really want to come back to California to fight a $25 ticket? I've also been pulled over several times for no front plate when my car was still registered in Ohio. Better to be safe than sorry. If you're worried your car will look "uncool" in pics because having a front license plate is "whack", then take your plate off your car once you arrive at the meet destination smile.gif.

joe, keep us updated with your progress. Your attendance is important to us smile.gif
People have front license plates on they're cars? o_0....interesting.. And derrick 75$ is worth a night with you <3..

Cool nics. So far Andrew is the only one to posts up his college spring break schedule. If anyone else is currently attending any classes, please let us know which dates are free for you so that we are able to confirm a date. Also, if there are any dates that you absolutely can not attend (ie gf anniversary, friend's birthday, etc.) then please let us know now. We will try to pick the best possible date once we have this information.

The nor cal caravan will be set up the same way again this year. We will meet just below the junction of 5 and 580 at Ingram creek(marked howard rd) at some god awful time in the AM. It seemed to work well last year as it was a pretty big area and we could all gas up and jump right back on the freeway(all 3 of us). I will be Pming CONFIRMED nor cal members a map(besides Emerson, as he is Nam's white shadow) so we don't clutter this thread up to much.
Last year's location for Moty was good, but people didn't like the $8 entrance fee. So the location will be around that area again. And unless people can get their schedule to us, we will only consider NorCal dates, since we will be the ones driving down from further away. Also, it may be a Sunday event, which gives NorCal Saturday to drive down, rest, and be ready for a Sunday meet.

Getting a hotel for all the NorCal people sounds good, or we can crash at a campsite on Saturday. But yeah, Derrick's place is far and I don't feel like adding 4 more hours of drive time.

2002 SC430 (WC) - 19" SSR Comp-H, Daizen swaybars, Sparco Demons, JDM Soarer conversion, carbon fiber spoiler, Injen intake, front strut bar, drilled/slotted Brembo rotors1997 Celica ST (DD) - 17" ADR, ViS Zyclone CF hood, ViS CF hatch, K&N intake, Invader body kit
I think people disliked the $8 fee because we had no idea it was there and had to pony up without knowing. Have you tried to call them and see if we can get a group rate of like 100$? Then we all only have to pitch in like $4. Ive looked everywhere around that area close to I5 and i cant find anything that looks as nice and as large as castaic does. And besides the hombres bumpin there sweet jams and it being a bit warm i thought the location was great last year. If we plan out a GOOD group cruise through those canyons again it would make this location and the whole meet in general that much better.
yes last time everybody started splitting up when we start driving up in the canyons. A 30 min drive would be nice so that we can get some videos of celica's driving by with different exhaust notes biggrin.gif whatever day this will land on I'm there.

And yes I'll be there with my beams supra kid!! wink.gif what should I bring?

"So no smart comments about it being in April"

But the meet is scheduled for May 8th? So I don't think you have to worry about smart ass comments about the meet being in April.. because it's not. Unless it is. Idk, you're contradicting. And I don't want to go anymore if you are going to make fun of me. I don't see what I did to you.

>Hi guys,

It's time for the First of the Year meet again. First being the first major meet of the year. So no smart comments about it being in April. Below are links to recaps of the previous year's meet. Browse through it if you want to know what this meet is going to be like. Not your average parking lot meet. We're coming with more activities for car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast alike. A switch from last year, FotY is being held down south this time, being as it is still winter-like conditions up here in NorCal. We are up for suggestions to the location, but consideration for the NorCal members are a priority since they (me) will be traveling alot further than you SoCal guys.

MotY Pictures

FotY is a different type of meet as it is in the winter. You can check out the first FotY (fFotY) at this link for a quick wrap-up.

2 things (in addition to the point I already corrected you on).

If location consideration is based on the distance a member must drive to attend this meet, then shouldn't Joe have the priority due to him having to travel further than any of the NorCal members?

And how is May 8th even close to being considered winter anymore?
