so a few days ago i went to hook up my new hid bulbs to my fogs, it did not work, at all, i had the black wire running to what i am assuming is the ground under the tensioner and all that and the blue going to the stock power location for the fogs, can anyone help me out?\

are these hids with ballasts? you will need to do some troubleshooting with a multimeter or test light.
Yes they have a ballast and the regular fogs work fine but the hids won't, maybe I need a better ground

u should get a bulb, then a separate box (the ballast) the power goes to the box, and the bulbs plug into the box. it will work one of the two ways. make sure the ground is good and if it dont work, swap ground and power

Ground under the tensioner?? pics would help a lot
Breaking Axles...
fixed the issue, got a voltage tester and apparently toyota or someone decided to change which was the ground and which was the power on the fogs

assuming its plug and play one the connectors are not fully connected, check all plugs it could be arcing, and maybe ur polarity is reversed. if its none of those use ur voltmeter to check wut the ballast input and output voltages are
all connections are good, they are all soldered together so there is no issue there but like i said it flickers and then dies, if i mess with the ground it will flicker more

Did you sand down to bare metal for the ground spot?

i have already tried running it to the battery with the same results, all the grounds were good it was grounded to the ground for the fogs where it was soldered to the piece

did u check ur output and input voltages with ur multimeter yet? this is the easiest way to troubleshoot ur problem.
if ur input V is wrong then its ur power supply
output V is wrong its ur ballast
it both those are good ur bulb is no good
