Like me this car.
We have one gt4 for circuit an is very nice.
Enjoi it.

The silver mk1 mr2 with wings on doors at that race had a 2.5l 2ar-fe with 6 speed manual from camry..

i predict this motor and tranny will be next big swap for celica's..( bonus the new TC gets same motor/tranny ) should

see a lot of parts available for motor next year.

if so, yea, its just a matter of time before someone stuffs one in a celica.
the powerband in that motor would be awesome in a celica for an n/a setup.

No i mean the 2.5L 4cyl with the new 6 speed. New boxy TC will be getting same set up and aftermarket will
of course cater to it.. Will fit into a celica with minimum work to mounts.. almost straight bolt in mr2 mk1.

Marc (owner of mk1 and guy who makes 2gr kit for sw20 mr2's) loves the new 2.5l / 6 spd..

Said it pulls all the way to redline just like 2gr.

2gr swap into a celica will be someday be done but since it is even taller than 1MZ hood clearance
will be issue..may require a modified oil pan to lower a bit..

I just received my ea61 6 speed from the UK for my mr2 2gr swap ..only $550 shipped from UK with 12k on it ..
Same gearbox as Lotus Evora but catch is the bellhousing is diff (no starter mount) and the evora one cost $1700 so
will be some fab to add a starter mount.

I was supposed to go to that race but been sick looked like a lot of fun.. Heard racing was clean besides one incident

Yeah -

Those kids got a -500 lap penalty for showing with that motor / trans combo. They should be kissing the judges feet for that - people's curse material almost certainly otherwise. I'll have to ask curt about the brake temps... that smoke is from the extinguished fire we put out - they caught fire after the car pulled into the pit... we managed to consume the pad, the metal backing pad, and push the piston out of the caliper and expel brake fuel which ignited once we stopped moving!

Also we chummed up with the other 6GC team out there - '94 GT that was turning some fast laps towards the end of the race after they got dialed in..... we are setting up paddocks together next time. Next race is Oct 9 and 10th
