So my heat like barely works... not sure why last winter it worked great? its blows out..just not heat lol... so I have an idea with a 2000C-4000M watt inverter I have laying around.. hear me out
The heater is a 1500Watt, and the inverter is 2000 Continuous and 4000 Max, So im pretty sure it will work in that aspect.
But I am wondering if I can run it off my "stock" electrical system?
I have 2 batteries (rear Kinetik) but running on the stock alt because my 220Amp alt over heated.
Can I run the heater? or should i wait to get my high output alt fixed and back (in a few days)

Or does anyone know why my heat just doesnt work anymore? thanks!

pop your hood

You will see a cable that comes out of the top driver side firewall, with a round hook on it that connects to a small black box...take your hand and move that little hook all the way over...either to the right or the left.

Get in a start your car and let it warm up...then go back out under your hood and move it all the way to either the right or the left, doesnt matter....get in your car and see if it's blowing hot/cold...if its blowing cold, get out and shift it to the other side, if its blowing nice and hot, problem fixed...just take your knob on the climate control and re adjust it.

I hope you understand what i am talking about...its not that hard

Its either that or you blew your heater core

A heater core is cheap...but its the labor thats going to kill you.

Just wondering, is your water temp gauge coming up to normal operating temp? Somewhere in the middle. If your termostat is stuck open your coolant in NY will barely get hot enough to heat your car.
i personally would not run a heater inside a car simply because our toyota charging systems are very weak. Even if your inverter can power the heater, doesn't mean your alternator can make that much power.

If your not getting heat through your radiator, its most likely your heater core is clogged or broken.
This will not work. Plain and simple. Just try and fix your heat.

The electrical system will overheat / malfunction / blow up / and destroy everything. 1500Watts is A LOT of power. If you think about it this way...

Watt's law says -- 1Watt = 1 Volt X 1 Amp
We know watts = 1500
We know volts (car on) = ~13 volts
Therefore Amps = 1500/13 = 115 Amps

A stock alternator puts out like between 60-80 Amps (At full capacity).

Therefore, you will not only destroy your alternator, but you run the risk of blowing fuses and melting the wires that carry that kind of current.
thread jacking,

where can i get a cheap heater core...

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in2grfe Swapped...Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.@llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. i'm willing to bet that all you need is replace your thermostat and you'll get your heat back.

It heats up normal, goes just about the middle. The heat worked fine just last year... for whatever reason now it doesnt work too great.
