So i bought a "new" 7A-FE and it has 60k on it (obviously was drained and cleaned before i put it in) and I put in I think Castrol 10W-30
And I just wanted to know If i can still switch to synthetic? Or will it mess with my internals?
And what exactly is the advantage of using synthetic? cleaner? last longer?
tell me what I should do!
thanks-

synthetic you can use. It lasts longer, cleans your walls better, and better for abuse, i mean performance wink.gif

It may mess with seals, the problem with it is it cleans the engine too thoroughly and sometimes can clean it too much that the old oil around the seal is cleaned too much and creates oil leaks.

although 60k isn't too much so it should be alright, I changed mine at 200k and only got one seal that started leaking.
Ha! that was pretty funny... what kind do you recommend?

That may or may not be a myth that it cleans it too well to affect it that bad. But if it does create leaks, seals should've been replaced anyways or your car hasn't been maintained very well. Synthetic is proven to be a better oil. Mobil 1 is commonly used but I use Royal Purple.

dealership... online.

sorry i don't have a part#. the oem filters are the best because of the pressure relief valve... fram and that other aftermarket stuff is garbage!
