Power Steering help - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #71983 6 posts Started by TiGZ461
Hey guys,

I've been stalling on gettin my car running due to being lazy and not knowing the first thing to do when it comes to removing and replacing my PS pump. I have removed the belt, and the top hose as well as the two bottom hoses. Now question is how do I take this off?

Everytime I go to unscrew the bolt the whole thing moves so I can't get the bolt off. Is there something I need to do this ? It's a size 17'' bolt.

And how the hell can I get to the screw that is rightbehind the pulley?
Please get back to me guys, I know this is real simple for most on here but f it I'm not a proud person, I'll admit I need help and just want my car running.
Any help will be great, or better yet come help me in person (:

the bolt circled is called a banjo bolt. its hollow inside. thats how the fluid passes through it. it should just inscrew, if the banjo fitting moves with it, thats ok, it will seperate from it

So should I just give it a pull?

It should just unscrew like any normal bolt. If you have changed the fuel filter before, it is very similar to the fuel line that goes to the top of the filter there. Maybe it needs some extra torque, give it some muscle?

There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out.QUOTEFerdi says (11:29)No, it looks like a hooker put her acid vag on your hood. Acid vag = bigger problem than a few dings.
Cool will do, and could you direct me to a link or somewhere I could find a pic of the difference in a GT and ST steering pump? I bought a used one and I think it might be different. Unless it's an aftermarket pump.

Is there a difference between the powersteering in a 96, and the one that comes in a 94-95 ST?

Seems like the position of the hose with the bolt** is on top rather then going sideways as shown in the pic. Idk if anyone understands that, but if you do can you let me know if it will work?
