Just got back from the quarter, I am still shocked I new the Saints would win. Everybody down here has the Saints flu no one is going to work Today! WHO DAT!!!
Saints going to the SUPERBOWL BABY!!!!!!! - 6G Celicas Forums
Clearly you didn't see it. There was good coverage, yes, but Reggie was supposed to be right where the ball was thrown. It is his job to get there. That is 100% Reggie waynes fault. And if he isn't going to get there he has to break up the play. One of a few of Reggie's screw ups.
The colts lost as a team its not just reggies's or paytons cant blame just 1 person. As I recall there was a few drops on the colts side any of them could be blamed. Momentom changed When We stopped the 3 an out right before the half And a big turning point in the game was the on side kick that changed the game. Good CAll Sean Payton!!
Reggie was there, he was jumped underneath. It was a good read.

I play WR and DB for my school. What I saw there was.. Reggie didn't break out of his route the way he usually does. He basically gave away the comeback route because he didnt sell it. I have to give Porter some credit though because he used his knowledge to read that play. the defense was a blitz and he was playing cover 4 so his eyes were on the QB and they previously ran that comeback route before so odds are in a situation like that trying to move the sticks it would come again. It was a good read. BUT Reggie Wayne is NOT a elite receiver. It showed today, hes afraid of contact. The drive before he dropped a potential touchdown. Marvin would have caught that. The WRs didnt play well at all for the colts, thus the saints are champions.

For the first time since you joined this site, I agree with PART of what you said.
-Reggie is an elite WR who just didn't show up today (100 rec, 1,220 yards I think this season)
-Marvin sure as hell wouldn't have done it, he avoided hits moreso than Reggie
>
It was a good read, but everything about that route was done poorly by Reggie. Didn't sell the play, and didn't break it up

I thought it was a great game and I'm really glad the Saints won, I was rooting for them the whole time, and the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas really deserve a big boost like this. I think it's great, and is great symbolism about the fortitude of the people down there. Good for you guys! A well deserved win.
just got back up from bourbon and it was epic!! who dat
it was a good game till I blacked out in the third quarter...after watchin the highlights I'd say they earned it. Peyton played marvelously, the support just wasn't there yesterday. We'll be back.

I cant remember Marvin Harrison dropping passes in clutch moments. Yes he avioded hits, but he made those impossible catches which makes him Elite. Regular season stats dont mean anything when you discuss ELITE receivers. Elite receivers catch those game changing TDs, or 3rd down passes in traffic. Marvin did that constantly throughout his career, Randy Moss does it, Jerry Rice did it.. those are elite receivers, they show up and make game changing plays day in and day out. When you think of Reggie Wayne you think of a good receiver, not Elite.

It was a terrible throw by Manning, plain and simple. Who throws a quick in on an all out blitz? Even I could have picked that ball off, knowing he had to get rid of it soon and was looking towards Reggie's direction. In a situation like that, you don't make that throw.
Whats funny is they would have lost even if Reggie caught the ball.
What lil I watched, it was a good game! I watched most of the 2nd half. I heard the commercials were lame again this year!
>
I've watched the play a million times... it wasn't a bad throw, it was where it was supposed to be in that situation. And in all reality, you would have no chance of picking off a pass like that... These are professional athletes.... He may have made it look easy, and it's just not that easy. I'm a very athletic, and very quick guy, and don't have confidence in myself to make that play.
>
I dont think you can say that. at all
My last post in this thread. I've said it everytime, it was a game we didn't deserve to win that day. Congrats New Orleans, but don't be arrogant about it. Without that play, the whole game is changed, and no one can argue that.

The commercials were pretty lame, nothing real memorable. Some of the Coke ones were good. The half-time show was pretty good, except they ended on the worst song of the set. All in all, great game. I had a feeling they'd win, and I knew they would after that interception.

I agree Reggie was where he was supposed to be, I never stated otherwise. What I did state was that you don't make that throw at that time. It was 100% Peyton's fault that it was picked off, plain and simple. Just because the receiver is where the are supposed to be doesn't make them a good target. It's a very easy read in that situation and as the best quarterback in the league (yes I'm even putting him before Brady), he should know it was a wrong move and a very easy move to undercut and pick 6 on.

Just saying After Colts had us 10- 0 We scored 31 points to there 7 Thats the reason I say we would have won plus the amount of time left I think the Saints defense would have stopped them. Like that 3 and out right before half time.
Tell you what it was meant for the Saints to win. I watched every game this year an There was many freaky things that happened during the reg. season that made the Saints win at the last minute. Either fumbles, int's, or missed fieldgoals at them end of games That just went the saints way.
Every one thought the colts was unbeatable, I new they was not when I seen the jets games Colts still won but they was sloppy at times. Oh and the Saints stomped the Jets in reg season.
And Top hall of fame qb's the Saints wooped up on this year
Bret Farve
Tom Brady
Payton Manning
Kurt Warner
Do I smell REPEAT!!!!!!!

oh man..... i said i wouldn't post anymore, BUT
jcaron- I meant the BALL was where it was supposed to be, NOT Reggie... Look at the play, and when you see how poorly he faked and his footing was, you can better see my point.
mk7celica- You definitely sound like an illiterate 14 year old kid who can't spell.

Yes, the saints did go on a 31-7 run. Now play the 'what-if' game: Peyton scores on that drive, now it's 24-14 (and a tie game at 24-24) So, how do you assume the Saints AUTOMATICALLY win? Your logic is deeply deeply deeply flawed. That one touchdown the other way, changes the game in its entirety.
And yes, a LOT had to happen for the Saints to get their. Mainly the Vikings deciding they didn't want to win, and handing them the ball game. (Vikings had a +220 yard advantage, a 9 minute T.O.P advantage, and a -4 T.O. differential)
In the NFL, you CANNOT say, "we stomped them and you lost to them/barely beat them, so that means we're better"
By that token, you only beat St. Louis by 5, while we trounced them by 36. It holds no real relevance.

o0o i love how this is such a heated thread lol.
but in all honestly it would have been pretty hard for the colts to beat the saints even without the pic6
but it was an awsome game. simply put
and the who just disapointed me... the stage was cool but they sounded horrible.
and the commercials were also disapointing lol. a few good ones but nothing amazing

I'm not talking about the speed, precision, accuracy, spin, anything about the throw itself. I was stating the fact that he THREW the ball in that situation, which makes it in fact, a bad throw. With an all out blitz closing in on the pocket very quickly, it's very easy to assume Peyton is going to dish it out to the guy cutting in towards the middle of the field, which he did. Porter just made a good read and stepped in front, but the throw still should have never been made. And why can't you just accept the fact that I'm a Pat's fan and like to see when Peyton fails?
