>Ok thanks! really s series engines have factory oil coolers? But they are not meant for racing are they. Does anybody happen to have a pic of it? Is it necessary to buy an aftermarket oil pump for racing? or the stock one is just fine.
Can anybody else elaborate on the difference between factory oil filter size and the mobile filter/trd oil filters? Also the reason why they put a metal zip tie over the oil filter on the youtube vid link.
yes, the 3s and 5s come with factory water cooled oil coolers. they aren't very effective. an aftermarket air cooled (beisde/infront of the rad) would be much more effective. it all depends on how your racing, and what you have on the engine. the size of the filter for our engines in my opinion isn't going to make a difference as long as u change it on a regular bases, although a more effective pump would play a big roll in moving oil @ hi rpm
as i did, i used the TRD oil filter relocation kit (stock size sport filter) and oil cooler; I am using a 3s oil pump tho. althought I'm not a racer i did it more as personal preference for a turbo build.
