Hatchback, hands down, and I can justify that with one word: parts. There are far more parts available for a hatch than there are a coupe.

if I had a coupe, I would still go for a hatch because of the rear end look and the availability of parts, so I am not bias.

hatches are the sex and they just look better to me with more cargo room and support. and you don't have to do much to make them look good. coupes need a bit to look good i think. at least a decent spoiler or lip kit.

Hatch. 3 of my 4 Celicas have been hatch's. The 'vert had a tiny little trunk and the rear end just didn't do anything for me.
Plus what other 2 door hatchback car could I haul so much stuff in and still look good?

Hatch, 100%. I have turned down buying good celicas b/c they weren't a hatch. ALL 4 of mine have been hatches.

Hate all the way to 1999. I mean the hatch is better and was more popular throughout the 6th generation. I mean why else Toyota would discontinue the coupe at 1997. Hatch all the way to the end of the 7th generation. HATCH FTW!!!

Hatchback even if you don't have a GT-Four you can make a front end change and it will look awesome........

i guess i have bit of a bias but other than availability of parts id go with coupe. it does take a bit more to make it look good but it is more unique because of it. also, when i see all those options for rear splitters whether it be here or ebay, it makes me feel a litte better when i watch youtube videos of 6gen hatches peeling out and for a split second i question whether i am looking at a civic.
i know ill be bashed for saying that but its all cool, i know we appreciate ALL 6gc's.

From a performance standpoint, the coupe is a better choice. They are lighter and a bit stiffer in the rear.
I own a hatch, and I feel that they look better than coupes. It all depends on what you want from the car.
