Hi again everyone. Ok this may sound weird but at certain occasions when I put it in reverse, after I start backing up a little a big thud sound kicks in. It sounds lik I hit something underneath my car. Anyone have an idea on what it might be? Thanks again for the help. It's much appreciated

You should check the fluid level make sure you got fluid and also make sure you not leaking anything. Im assuming its automatic. Does it only make this sound when you throw it in reverse? Also does it make this sound as soon as you put it in reverse? or afterwards. The driveshafts ???????

I'm sorry. I know it's stupid but I don't know how to check the tranny fluid level. I have an st model 94. And the car is standard by the way. It doesn't make the thud right when I put it in reverse. But after I start backing up. Sorry I don't know about cars so I don't really know what a driveshaft is
Not to be rude goonter but, when he says words you don't know, try googling them or dictionary.com or howstuffworks.com.
I like howstuffworks.com because they helped me great understand the basics of cars, which if you are trying to find out what a problem is its a great way to start. And its simple.
But try to look for what Tech-nics sayed online and see if thats the problem.

to check the fluid on the manual tranny there is no dipstick, you have to pretty much put the car on a level plane, and unscrew the top or filler bolt on the tranny and see if the fluid is about to overfill, pretty much stick your finger or a plastic to find it, or fill it with oil until it tops out

It's your drum brakes. Get them checked / replaced ASAP, because they will lock up soon.
By the way, this only happens in reverse because of the auto-adjust feature that drum brakes have on them, when they're messed up like they are, the auto-adjust feature just breaks them worse, instead of fixing them.

the drum brakes i see.. how much do you think it would be to replace the drum brakeS?
You can get a pair of drum brakes from your local autoparts store for $15-30 complete cost.

you could just get the disc conversion done in the back. not hard and not too expensive.
anyways, i doubt brakes. sounds more like motor mount maybe.

I have a 94 st hatch back, but automatic and I'm interrested in you idea, how much you think the kit costs and some suggestions where can I buy the complete diskbrake kit? for both sides, dont try to estimate the mechanics job too, just the disks, thanks in advance

That price was just for the shoes. And, the spring(and all the goodies) kit is another like 7-15 bux, and you don't need to buy new drums everytime, they are able to be resurfaced just like rotors, just did mine that way a couple months ago.
